in a card shop far far away, sat a box of 1986 Fleer basketball cards that cost .50 cents a pack or $18 for the whole box! 25yrs later, that same box is up for auction on EBAY with a starting bid of a mere $30,000! You dont know how bad I wanna bid in this auction, buying a wax box of 86 Fleer is on my bucket list right next to sleeping with Britney Spears and playing in an actual Celtics game.....not sure how either of those are gonna pan out for me. I've seen plenty of graded packs but this is the first box that I've seen graded and just the thought of 15-18 Jordan RC's sitting in their is giving me heart palpitations!

They call me a Camel but I mastered the drought...

If your Dad or Mom smokes Camel cigarettes and has one of these hanging in their closet, go steal it right now, list it on eBay and get money! Finding one of these now-a-days is like going to the strip club and getting handed a hundred and fifty $1 bills just because! If you're not familiar with the Rayon craze, our good friends in Malaysia pay big money for specific tri-blend tee's, this being one of the best along with Nike. The last two on eBay sold for $120 and $180, find 6 of them and you could be a thousandaire, do the math! eBay is like the stock market, master it and you can make money for years to come!!!

Pay Day...

Its official, we just set the record for the highest selling vintage snapback....and yes they already paid. Last year we sold a Metal Shield Raiders snapback (the Cube Boyz n the Hood hat) for $500 and yesterday we beat our previous record with the Raiders hat above which sold for a whopping ..........$550!!! It's one of the rarest Raiders hats out there but I honestly didn't think it would go for that much, it just goes to show people will still pay good great money for a classic vintage Raiders snap!!

Ralph Lauren's Punch Out...

Vintage NWT 1994 Polo summer outing tee given away at the company picnic....not for sale! The shirt is printed on a RRL tee and has Ralphie giving his best Mickey Ward left hook. I've only seen one other before and it was on eBay for $200 or so.

Same Damn Lo Sweater...

Saw this on eBay last night....pretty unique to say the least, wonder what the real story is.

From the Seller:
"It is a fully lined, hooded shirt made of sequins and beads in the classic Ralph Lauren 1992 Stadium style. It is very similar to the cotton sweatshirt hoodie that was made during the same era, except this one has the America 3, or America Cubed, America's Cup logo. I got it from a retired gentleman who was an art director in New York City for years. He said he purchased it used about 10 years ago and believed it to be a sample piece used for a fashion show. It has a tag in the collar that says "Original Sample Not for Sale" with the Ralph Lauren logo and "Style #", and "Fab #". It looks like there was some writing on the tag that has worn off. Next to Fab # it looks like the number 30. It is a truly unique and amazing looking piece."

Varsity (Jacket) Blues...

I have a small obsession with Varsity Jackets and I was watching this one on eBay a couple weeks back. I wasnt going to bid on it but I wanted to see what it sold for and it ended at $280. A newer varsity jacket can retail for upwards of $500 and this bad boy is 40+ yrs old and cooler than most. The Blackhawks have had the same logo since 1964/65 but you know the old sayin; if it aint broke, dont fix it and this logo is too good to be messed with! Also check out the old Butwin tag which is classic!!!

From the Seller:
The item up for bid is a true 1960s vintage Chicago Blackhawks BUTWIN wool/leather varsity jacket...complete with the original Butwin tagging in the collar, which was the brand of choice for the Blackhawks back in the good old days. This jacket is a very heavyweight leather and wool construction, as it was intended for colder weather...I don't think of this so much as a wearable but more of a displayable, collectible item. The looks of it are simply stunning in my opinion. The bold colors, and intricate embroidery work on the cresting and tomahawks make this one grab you right away. This was reported to have come from a former Blackhawk and these are the same types players were issued. The only other jacket like this that I have ever seen offered for sale, was Pit Martin's and it sold for $850 years ago

Caught Stealin'...

Someone was getting their Beagle Boys on!!!! Not quite a million dollar heist but I'd say the the buyer of these 2 AF1's got a steal! The Linens & 3M Snake Air Force 1's above ended the other day on eBay for a combined price of $203.50!! Both were sz 9, NDS and came with the original box. I'd say the going rate for each pair is about $200 give or take so the buyer pretty much saved 50% off, which in my book is a steal! I'm not a huge AF1 guy but if the Linens were my size I would've probably bid on them.....but they werent, so I didnt and life goes on. People are sleeping on the steals but just means more deals for me :-)

Damn That DJ Made My Day...

Undefeated and Creative Visions partner for the DJ AM MEMORIAL FUND limited edition charity sneaker auction on eBay. The auctions will run November 15th - December 14th exclusively at eBay.com/djamshoes. The proceeds benefit The DJ AM Memorial Fund so show your support, bid on some rare kicks and always remember the homie Adam Goldstein!!

Beverly Hills CA - November 12, 2009 In honor of the late Adam "DJ AM" Goldstien, Undefeated, Creative Visions and the Estate of Adam Goldstein today announce the DJ AM MEMORIAL FUND charity sneaker auction on eBay. The charity auction features over 800 pairs of limited edition shoes, all from Adams private personal collection.

DJ AM started collecting sneakers over 10 years ago, but his passion began as a child when his grandmother took him to buy shoes one year for the first day of school. Adam saw a pair of AirJordan 1's in his hometown of Philadelphia and was instantly hooked. "It looked like the Millennium Falcon," he had said. "It looked like a toy from 'Star Wars,' and I was begging her. They were $70 and that was unheard of, and she was like, 'Oh no.'' This fascination soon turned into a hobby which quickly made Adam one of the most avid and premiere collectors in the world. AM became recognized over the years for his expertise in sneakers and was respected worldwide for his extensive collection. His stash includes limited edition and hard or impossible to find pairs of Nike, Adidas, Converse, BAPE and more.

The public auction will begin on-line on Sunday, November 15th, and all proceeds will go to the DJ AM MEMORIAL FUND. The DJ AM Memorial Fund maintains the legacy of Adam Goldstein through extending his commitment to helping others struggling with addiction. Contributions will help organizations and projects committed to addressing issues of addiction and recovery. The fund is powered through the non-profit group Creative Visions.

Just in time for the holidays, the charity auction will run from Sunday November 15th beginning at 4:30pm (PST) through December 14th exclusively at www.ebay.com/djamshoes. As part of the auction, consumers will be able to bid on Adams shoes, some worn and some brand new. The lot includes a pair of Nike PlayStation Air Force 1s that were made exclusively for a PlayStation party (Nike only made 200 of them, and they have sold online for up to $3,000), 1 pair of Eminem Air Jordan 4s created to commemorate the release of the rapper's Encore LP (only 50 pairs of the Eminem Jordan 4s were made and they've sold in the past for close to $7,500), Supreme Dunks, Supa Dunks AND other Hyperstrikes, Air Jordan PE's, Vintage and early retro’s and many, many other rare, limited edition, hard to find gems.

Undefeated (UNDFTD) will feature 18 of the most exclusive pairs of shoes from Adam’s collection at their 3 Los Angeles area stores; La Brea, Santa Monica and Silverlake. Running concurrently with the auction, people will be able to view hard or impossible to find pairs including: Jay Z Air Force 1’s, Zoo York Dunk’s, Pharrell Williams N.E.R.D Dunk’s, Tiffany Dunk’s, Eminem Air Jordan 4’s, Pigeon Dunk’s, the incredibly rare pair of Laser Air Force 1’s (Fukijama’s) that Adam beat out Turtle for on the “Entourage” episode. These shoes and more will be on display at all three LA Undefeated locations.

What Recession...

Game worn collectors dont believe in the recession!! The 1974 game worn John Roche jersey above just sold on auction for a whopping $2,225.00. Roche attended high school at La Salle Academy and college at the University of South Carolina and was a three-time All-American and two-time MVP of the Atlantic Coast Conference. He was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the first round (14th pick) of the 1971 NBA Draft and also selected by the Kentucky Colonels in the 1971 ABA Draft. Roche signed with the New York Nets of the ABA, who had obtained the rights to him from the Colonels. He was selected to the 1972 ABA All-Rookie team, and played with the Nets during his first three seasons. During the 1973-1974 season, he was traded back to Colonels for Mike Gale and Wendell Ladner. Anytime you can find a game worn ABA jersey you got yourself a gem!

Steal or Deal...

The vintage Nike Dunks above ended last week on eBay for $271.00 and I ask the question: Steal, Deal or Overpaid??? I guess it really comes down to preference because some people would rather buy a crisp new pair of dunks for $100-$150 over a 25yr old pair of used sneakers for $270 but would you?? The dunks were a sz 9.5 in Michigan's Maize & Blue colors which were part of the original University Dunk colorways. The thing about vintage Dunks is you can usually wear them without any cracking (from my past experiences) unlike most older Nikes like Air Techs for example or even OG Jordans. I had a pair of the OG Michigan dunks Hi's a while back that I think I sold for over $300, maybe even $400 I cant remember. These most likely ended up in the hands of a collector for display purposes or sentimental value rather than someone looking to rock a pair of OG dunks.

Caught Stealing...

This might not be the biggest steal in the world but I think its a great deal. Today a pair of OG Jordan VII's sold for $108.49 on eBay. The "Raptor" VII's actually just retroed last month as part of the 60+ pack but the retail was $310 for the pack. I'm not a math wiz but that makes them $155 per pair which means you couldve gotten an OG pair for $50 less than that!!!! Anytime you can get a pair of OG Jordans w.box, NDS for around $100 I think you got yourself a steal. I was going to bid on thm but I have my 01 retros and dont need anymore sneakers for the moment (I always say that and next thing you know Im buying more)!

For DISPLAY Purposes Only...

Check out this vintage Nike Air Revolution Display that ended on eBay yesterday. I love old Nike Displays, especially the ones like this that show the whole breakdown of the sneaker from the inside out. My personal favorite is the Nike Air Force 180 display but this one is pretty dope too! The AUCTION had a buy it now of $1,000 but ended at $305 which is still a lot for a sneaker display. First released in 1988, the Air Revolution was an ideal basketball shoe as it featured Nike’s patented Air technology and featured the see-through air bubble. The sneaker was a hi-top that included and ankle strap for added support. The Beatles said "You wanna a revolution" and Nike was listening when they made this shoe!

Random...

I just came across this eBay auction for a random 1970's kids ringer t-shirt. The shirt was made by the company Wacky Packages which parodied common household products and were extremely popular among children in the 1970's. The shirt features 3 parodied products: JUJYFRUITS which was changed to changed to JERKYFRUITS (YUM nothing beats Jerkey flavored candy)! Yoo-Hoo was changed to Boo-Hoo and it states that its a tear flavored drink (YUM salty tears to wash down my meal)!! The last one is a knockoff of the Hostess Cupcakes and I cant quite read what is says but it looks like Filled With MUD??? Also there is a picture of a guy with a gun to his head getting force fed a cupcake??????? The craziest thing about this shirt is that it sold for $210.49!!!!!!!! The company is still around today and they continue to make parodied products for the masses.

What Recession...

Above is the rarest Polo Bear sweater ever, period! The cashmere turtleneck bear sweater is the holy grail for a lot of polo heads and just ended on eBay for $3150 , that wasnt a typo either!! I think that might be the highest price Ive ever seen for a vintage polo piece on ebay. If you have one of these hanging in your closet collecting dust I suggest sending it to me so its in good hands :-)

What Recession....

In this weeks volume of "What Recession" I present you the Nike dunk sb "LOON". These were a 2004 sample that never made it into production and have had sneakerheads going LOONEY ever since, HAHAHAHA. A pair of these Loons just sold on ebay for a whopping $3050.00!!!!! The shoe design is based of the Minnesota state bird and rumor has it that there are only about 29 pairs in existence hence the astronomical price!!!
