Ralph Lauren's Punch Out...

Vintage NWT 1994 Polo summer outing tee given away at the company picnic....not for sale! The shirt is printed on a RRL tee and has Ralphie giving his best Mickey Ward left hook. I've only seen one other before and it was on eBay for $200 or so.

Saw this on eBay last night....pretty unique to say the least, wonder what the real story is.

From the Seller:
"It is a fully lined, hooded shirt made of sequins and beads in the classic Ralph Lauren 1992 Stadium style. It is very similar to the cotton sweatshirt hoodie that was made during the same era, except this one has the America 3, or America Cubed, America's Cup logo. I got it from a retired gentleman who was an art director in New York City for years. He said he purchased it used about 10 years ago and believed it to be a sample piece used for a fashion show. It has a tag in the collar that says "Original Sample Not for Sale" with the Ralph Lauren logo and "Style #", and "Fab #". It looks like there was some writing on the tag that has worn off. Next to Fab # it looks like the number 30. It is a truly unique and amazing looking piece."

L-Oprah...

Only 6 episodes left, thank you lord may I have another!! He's defined American style for more than 40 years. For the first time, designer Ralph Lauren allows cameras and Oprah of all people on an exclusive tour of his RRL Ranch in Colorado. I'll probably watch it on mute because the sound of Oprah's voice makes my soul cry but it's definitley worth checking out to see Ralphie's digs.

Still Thriftin' after all these years...

Thriftin' now-a-days is hit or miss with an emphasis on miss. I remember back in the day I used to fill up carts at each thrift store, now I'll be lucky to come away with a few gems. Case in point; last week I went to eight thrift stores, after seven goose eggs I was tired, annoyed and ready to call it a day but I went to one more for good measures. The final stop was almost another bust but on the way out I stopped at the scarf rack and low and behold there was a vintage Polo crest medals scarf just sitting there for the taking. Thrift Store tip: Don't sleep on the scarves, there's some big money if you know what you're looking for!

I haven't found much vintage Polo lately but Sunday I came away with a few pieces from the flea market. I walked by a massive pile and almost didn't stop but I'm glad I did because these were all buried at the bottom. I'm gonna probably keep the Yacht jacket but the USA fleece and Cookie jacket will be for sale soon along with a bunch of Polo that I have laying around.

Who remembers Tommy Vu??? Anybody, show of hands. For those that dont know or remember Mr Vu, he was infamous for his late night infomercials in the 80s & 90s. Vu surrounded himself with luxury items: mansions, yachts, expensive cars and most visibly, collections of young bikini clad women. He promoted his free 90-minute seminar to learn the same secrets he used to make millions. As a Vietnamese immigrant, he presented himself as the classic 'rags to riches' story. For some odd reason I was watching his informercial today and I noticed something interesting, he was rocking a vintage Polo USA cookie patch rugby. Was Tommy Vu a Lo Life?? Was he part of the United Shoplifters Association?? Was he rich from boostin' Polo and selling it on eBay?? So many questions, so little answers but one thing is for sure.......Vu is a self made Millionaire, plush livin', never been to prison, throwin' money in the air!!!!

LO Mein...

Went out of town this past weekend and stopped at a random Bloomingdales which hat these 2 hats from the Winter line. The Lake Placid line was one of my favorite lines for as long as I can remember and I pretty much cleaned house. However I didnt see these hats online or at any of the stores so I was pretty surprised when I saw them in the clearence bin for $12 each.

The Olympics are officially over which in Polo land means SALE SALE SALE (in-store only)!!!!! I picked up the Navy USA vest today (too lazy to take pics) for 50% which is equivalent to the amount of clothing Lindsey Vonn took off for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit shoot :-) This vest is all the motivation I need to start my Curling career and hopefully I can be a member of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, Russia.

I got this Vintage Polo Sport Mountain Patch jacket in today and I'm super bummed because its too big!!! This is one of my favorite Polo lines of all time but it runs big and I always get a Lrg when I need a Med......WTF!! If anyone has a Medium they want to trade holler holler!

I got it for the LO...

Picked up this Polo 92 jkt today at the flea market!!! The best part is its my size and I also think its the best colorway. The grape colorway is dope too especially seeing Grand Puba kill it while performing 360 "What Goes Around) on In Living Color. The jacket is almost mint with just a little wear on the logo and I paid next to nothing so I cant complain :-)

...literally!!! Hit up the Flea Market today and scooped this bad boy for CHEAP!!!! My girl actually found it and said youre welcome......I said for what? She said finding this for you and pulled it from the rack! Its a sz Medium and in good condition, just needs a little dry cleaning. There's no better feeling than finding a gem buried in the mix!

New Year, New Fit...

So the first thing I did for the New Year was watch the Bruins v Flyers game at Fenway Park. It kinda made me fell like I was back home which lead me to believe it was cold out which lead me to wear this outfit which lead me to remember that I'm in LA and its 70 degrees out. Anyways.....Red Sox New Era, Polo Lake Placid shirt, RRL denim and Red Wings for today. The store was closed today but I came in to do some work and I even parked in Jeremy's spot....shhhh, don't tell him though!!
