93 till infinity...

Did a little digging this weekend and found this 93 rugby for $6, my size too! Funny thing is there was one on eBay last week and I hit the seller up with a decent offer and she turned it down, worked out in the end, the vintage Gods were looking out for me!!!

Still Thriftin' after all these years...

Thriftin' now-a-days is hit or miss with an emphasis on miss. I remember back in the day I used to fill up carts at each thrift store, now I'll be lucky to come away with a few gems. Case in point; last week I went to eight thrift stores, after seven goose eggs I was tired, annoyed and ready to call it a day but I went to one more for good measures. The final stop was almost another bust but on the way out I stopped at the scarf rack and low and behold there was a vintage Polo crest medals scarf just sitting there for the taking. Thrift Store tip: Don't sleep on the scarves, there's some big money if you know what you're looking for!

Thrift or Die...

I was in Charlotte NC today and stopped by the Value Village thrift store and found a pair of 70s Nike All Courts. They are size US 12, in great condition for a sneaker thats over 30yrs old and only cost me $2 (as you can see from the heel). The Nike All Court is a timeless classic canvas sneaker similar in style to the Bruin and Blazer. The Nike All Court was designed to do it all. Between Shooting hoops, casual attire, and everything in between, the All Court accompanies a personality for every occasion. Anyways just thought I'd share a couple pics.....gotta get back to my beer on the lake :-)

Ive League Thrifting...

Stopped by a nearby thrift store today and picked up some goodies. Above are my 2 favs out of the bunch....first up is a 1952 College sweater which I believe is from Dartmouth but not 100% sure. The sweater is MINT condition and the only thing that stinks is the tag is missing because I love seeing old tags. The second item is a 70s Harvard jacket which is pretty sweet. The jacket is real simple with HARVARD sitched on the back and a blank front. The old Russell tag is still present as well as the Holovak & Coughlin Sporting Goods tag. Holovak & Coughlin Sporting Goods, Inc. has been supplying sporting apparel and equipment to the New England area since 1964.

The other items I picked up were a vintage Toronto Raptors starter shirt, a Red Sox 2004 World Series jersey NWT, a vintage red/green striped "Freddy Kruger" sweater (great for halloween) and a couple old (60s?) blank sweatshirts.

Thriftin Aint Easy...

...but somebodys gotta do it!!! Ive been going to thrift stores for as long as I can remember, probably 10+ years now. Its literally become a routine just like brushing your teeth or taking a shower. Thrifting is actually one of my favorite pastimes so to speak and I enjoy grabbing a coffee, heading to the thrift store and just cruising the whole store in hopes of finding some cool vintage gear. Sometimes you leave empty handed and sometimes you find amazing vintage clothes but either way its fun to me. Im gonna start posting some of my favorite finds of the week so without further adieu here are a couple from this week: First up is a 1989 Rolling Stones some girls t-shirt that is in great vintage condition (when I say great vintage condition it can mean 2 things, either mint with no holes/rips/stains or worn to perfection meaning super soft & thin which a lot of people prefer). In this case the shirt is softer than a babys butt and thinner than Mary Kate Olsen (Ive been using that saying for years so dont try and bite it, hahaha). The second shirt is a 1989 Stray Cats t-shirt which is a little more worn than the stones and has seen better days but amazing nonetheless. ***Thrift Store Tip*** When you find one concert tee from a specific year most likely there is another one or two in the store because people usually clean out their closet and give away similar items that they dont want anymore. I can just picture some 40yr old Dad doing his spring cleaning, finding these buried in the drawer and after a minute of reminiscing tossing them in the pile for the Salvation Army.
