This is definitely the best vintage Godzilla/Barkley tee Nike released back in 92. Everyone has seen the "Battle of the Century" shirt but this one is a diamond in the rough!!!

We Drop Bows on' Em...

You could argue that this shirt was better suited for The Mailman rather than The Admiral. Case and point, 1998, battle in the paint, Malone drops a vicious elbow to Robinson dome piece knocking him out cold for a few minutes. When Robinson finally came to, he got greeted with a foul and a trip to the emergency room.......you sunk my battleship!

Crack still Kills...

Sunday's were created for two things and two things only.....Football & Flea Markets. I've been going to Flea markets on Sunday morning's for as long as I can remember and its one of my favorite past times. This past Sunday it was off to the Rose Bowl with my mind of vintage and vintage on my mind. No more than 10 minutes into the day I spotted the all mighty clear case of the Nike Air Pressure's. From a distance I wasn't sure if it was just the case but as I got closer I could see the shoes inside. Much to my dismay when I opened the case both heels were cracked which is common for these because the weight of the pump system. The actual pump was also missing, however there was no cracking on the midsole which is always a plus. I asked how much, thinking they would say around $300 but I was pleasantly surprised when the she said $100. Now $100 isn't a super steal but its a decent price considering I've seen pairs in the same condition sell for upwards of $300. Of course I didn't pay $100 though, what fun would it be if you didn't haggle the price. I said $60, she said $90, I said $70, she said $80, I said $79 just so I could win and we had a deal. I'd say $79 for some Deadstock sz 11.5 Air Pressure's with carrying case is a pretty decent pickup, if not for anything more than display!!!!!

Swing the John McEnroe, rap rock'n'roll...

Yesterday I went to the Flea Market to see if I could find any buried treasures so to speak. After a couple hours of digging I had several trash bags full of dope gear and on my way to the car to call it a day I stumbled upon a pair of vintage kicks. I was crip walking down the isle, minding my own business when out of the corner of my eye I spotted something. It's A Bird... It's A Plane... It's Superman!!!!! Actually it was a pair of vintage 1985 Nike Mac Attacks!! *Legal Flashback* I was watching a pair on eBay last year in my size (NIB) that sold for $1,000 BIN!!!!!! I calmly walked over, picked up the shoes, looked at the inside sz/date code and much to my dismay they were a sz 8 which I stopped wearing in 6th grade! Even though they weren't my size they're still a classic sneaker and hold a decent value to them so I asked the guy how much he wanted. He replied "$60" and I replied "YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS". He looked at me like I was crazy but then I told him the story and offered him $40 which he quickly agreed to. Dear Nike, please retro these in original form sometime in the near future, thanks!

Holy Grail...

Christmas came early today and the postman dropped off one of my longtime grails!! Ive been looking for years but could never find my size, deadstock w/box! Im not gonna show you the full pics because I gotta let the suspense build up like horror movies! If you can guess what they are I'll give you some leftover Halloween candy :-)

Which Came First...

....the chicken or the egg. In this case the chicken is the McEnroe jacket and the egg is the Jordan jacket. As you can see in the picture above Jordan is rocking the exact same jacket that I posted below except for one minor detail; his has the wings logo on the chest instead of the checkerboard patch. It looks as if Nike made 2 versions of this jacket, one for his Airness and one for Johnny Mac. Either way you "patch" it these jackets are dope and super rare to come by. Make sure you watch the video if you havent seen it already, its a classic!!!!

Thriftin Aint Easy...

I went back home this past weekend and you know I had to get my thrift on. I got a bunch of snapbacks, some boxes of basketball cards, a bunch of dope vintage tees but the best thing I found was this vintage Nike Mcenroe jacket above. If you follow me on twitter than you've probably seen my "Live from the Thrift Store" tweets and this was one of them. I found this Mac jacket buried in the back of the ack and almost didnt even bother digging through it but Im glad I did! I have the black version in my personal collection and its one of my favorite vintage pieces jackets! Its just so simple and clean but the checkerboard patch lets people now that you can freak out on a referee at any given moment.......YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS!! If this was my size I would probably keep it for myself but its a Small (fits like a Medium) so for sale it goes.

Hypnotized...

I went into a hypnotic trance when I took pictures of this shirt. It reminds me of those optical illusion pictures that you just stare at until an image pops out at you. The shirt is a red tag Nike tee from the 90's that features a double sided all over print graphic similar to Magic Johnson T's.

Kings Ransom...

Watching "Kings Ransom"....chronicling the 1988 trade of hockey star Wayne Gretzky from the Edmonton Oilers to the LA Kings by Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg as part of the network's 30 for 30 series (30 docs celebrating ESPN's 30 years). Peter Berg actually came by the store about a month ago to get some vintage gear and scooped up the Nike Gretzky tee above. The shirt was from the late 80s when the trade went down and the front read "THE ICEMAN COMETH".

Don't Judge Me...

Who here loves watching Judge Judy??? I wouldnt want to be in front of her on trial nor in front of Lester Hayes on the football field. Above is a vintage Nike (blue tag) Lester Hayes aka The Judge t-shirt. The Judge and myself have 1 thing in common, we are both Jedi masters of our craft, hahahaha! A big Star Wars fan, during pregame interviews for Super Bowl XVIII he declared himself the "only true Jedi" in the NFL. Hayes was drafted by the Raiders in 1977 where he was a member of two Raiders championship teams (1980, 1983), and was a five-time Pro Bowler (1980–1984). In 1980 Hayes led the NFL with 13 interceptions and was named AP Defensive Player of the Year and the NEA Defensive Player of the Year. He retired after the 1986 season with a total of 39 interceptions, a Raider record shared with Hall of Famer Willie Brown.

Mo Colors, Mo Better...

Above are two vintage Nike tees from the old Air Raid campaign. The Nike Air Raid II Peace Edition were Nike’s first Outdoor Basketball shoes which featured a wild Tribal African Print designed by Spike Lee in 1993. Last year Nike brought back the Air Raid Urban Jungle white colorway but still havent retroed the black pair which everyone wants......what are they waiting for?? The white shirt is NWT and the black tee is used but we have them both in store along with other rare Air Raid gear like the varsity jacket, button up jersey and the OG kicks!

BO Knows Pink...

Usually when you think of BO Jackson you think of black & silver or royal blue & white, but Pink???? Above is a vintage BO Jackson Nike shirt that we have in stock which feature all BO's different characters from the 90s Nike ad campaign. This shirt is sick and I've never seen a Pink (actually more Salmon color, haha) BO Jackon shirt before in my life. Sometimes people forget how influential BO was to sports and how great he was at the height of his career. I often wonder if there will ever be another 2 sport pro athlete of his caliber.......only time will tell.

For DISPLAY Purposes Only...

Check out this vintage Nike Air Revolution Display that ended on eBay yesterday. I love old Nike Displays, especially the ones like this that show the whole breakdown of the sneaker from the inside out. My personal favorite is the Nike Air Force 180 display but this one is pretty dope too! The AUCTION had a buy it now of $1,000 but ended at $305 which is still a lot for a sneaker display. First released in 1988, the Air Revolution was an ideal basketball shoe as it featured Nike’s patented Air technology and featured the see-through air bubble. The sneaker was a hi-top that included and ankle strap for added support. The Beatles said "You wanna a revolution" and Nike was listening when they made this shoe!

Combo Meal...

This outfit + the Lexus below = match made in heaven! It feels like yesterday that I was watching Agassi's last match at the US Open back in 2006. I've been watching the 09 US Open all week and as much as I love Darth Federer & Rafa they just cant compare to what Agassi brought to the court. The vintage Nike Challenge court gear is one of my favorite vintage lines that Nike ever put out and above is the logo tee with the OG Air Tech's to match.
