Sunday's were created for two things and two things only.....Football & Flea Markets. I've been going to Flea markets on Sunday morning's for as long as I can remember and its one of my favorite past times. This past Sunday it was off to the Rose Bowl with my mind of vintage and vintage on my mind. No more than 10 minutes into the day I spotted the all mighty clear case of the Nike Air Pressure's. From a distance I wasn't sure if it was just the case but as I got closer I could see the shoes inside. Much to my dismay when I opened the case both heels were cracked which is common for these because the weight of the pump system. The actual pump was also missing, however there was no cracking on the midsole which is always a plus. I asked how much, thinking they would say around $300 but I was pleasantly surprised when the she said $100. Now $100 isn't a super steal but its a decent price considering I've seen pairs in the same condition sell for upwards of $300. Of course I didn't pay $100 though, what fun would it be if you didn't haggle the price. I said $60, she said $90, I said $70, she said $80, I said $79 just so I could win and we had a deal. I'd say $79 for some Deadstock sz 11.5 Air Pressure's with carrying case is a pretty decent pickup, if not for anything more than display!!!!!

Crack Kills Volume 8...

Its been awhile since my last relapse but last week I was feenin, so I had to break out some vintage kicks! I started off the week UNDS'ing a pair of 1984 Vandals which was a little nerve racking but they held up nicely with no sign of damage. Fast forward 5 days and the story line is bit different. I woke up in the morning craving a fix, so I went to my closet to grab a pair of vintage kicks. After some debate I felt like getting my Hoya Destroya on and went with some vintage Ewing Eclipse Hi's by Next Sports.........which I thought was a good idea at the time. My brillant plan turned into a nightmare hours later when I was at work and the sole almost fell off the shoe.
I dropped to my knees and asked GOD "Why? How could this happen and what did I do to deserve this??"
He said "Son you have played with fire (fire is a synonym for wearing vintage sneakers, get it) too many times so I have to teach you a lesson!"
I said "but Lord I like wearing vintage sneakers, what good are they if you cant wear them?"
He said "I understand your pain, I love wearing vintage sneakers too!"
I said "We're on the same page Lord, why would you let these fall apart on me if I only wore them to bring joy."
He said "Son you needed a new blog post so I was there to help you!"
I said "Why couldnt have given me another idea instead of ruining my sneakers?"
He said "No, it was time for a Crack Kills post"
I said "I guess you're right, thanks again!"
He Said "Anytime, Peace!"

Crack Kills Volume 7...
Here’s a little story I got to tell about a crack epidemic that I know so well. Yesterday was just another day, or at least that's what I thought when I woke up. So I was at the flea market having a jolly old time as I always do when I spotted an orange box from at least 100 yards away (I have a crazy vintage spidey sense). I made a b-line for the table and as I got closer I saw what appeared to be a pair of OG Air Max Lights. I was now at a full sprint (like supermarket sweep, damn I miss that show) pushing people out of my way like rag dolls, hurdling little baby's like Bruce Jenner in his prime and I even pulled a Barry Sanders spin move around an Andre the Giant looking guy. The whole time I was thinking PLEASE be my size and have NO cracking......well unfortunately for me neither of those wishes came true!! I got to the table to find a DS pair of 89 Air Max Lights, in the WH/GRPH/AGN BL colorway and size US 8. I looked at the right shoe first which had no signs of cracking and I was pumped but when I went to grab the left shoe, there it was.........CRACK CRACK CRACK!!!! Its such a sad sight when you find a sick pair of deadstock vintage kicks and they are cracked, its like having trick candles on your birthday cake and never being able to blow them out. Anyways I got them for next to nothing and there still a cool pair of OG's and will make a good display for the store.....enjoy the pics!

Crack Kills Volume 7...

Its that time again, time to show you the effects of Crack!! The epidemic is sweeping the vintage sneaker community and this needs to stop, thankfully Nike is retroing some of these classics so we can wear them without fear of the evil Cracklord. I posted the ST retro pics last week and I knew I had a pair of the OG's somewhere and while I was cleaning today I found them buried in a box of beat up vintage kicks. These have seen better days but isnt that the case with every Crack Kills post! I'm too upset to go into the details so I will just let the pics do the talking.

Crack Kills Volume 6...

Guess who's back, back again....the Crackman's back, tell your friends! Its been awhile since I did a Crack Kills post but todays feels like a good day for some Crack Crack Crack. This will be my 6th installment of the tear jerking post that features a sneaker that fell victim to the evil Cracklord. Featured today is a pair of vintage Nike Air Tail Winds from 1992 that look like they fought the law and the law won!! Seriously these bad boys have seen better days than this (insert Bruce Springsteen song). The Tailwinds are a pretty popular runner amongst vintage heads and most recently Nike retroed the classic sneaker in whole slew of colorways but my favorite will always be the "Kenya" colorway. So back to the shoes, did you see how clear the air units are on these??? Kidding, the air units look like the ran through a dust storm and the midsole is yellower than extra buttered popcorn at the movie theatre (which by the way cost like $22 now-a-days)! I might take these out for a run today and see if they wont completley fall apart on my feet leaving me to walk home barefoot.....just a thought. Do you think when Fat Joe says Crack Crack Crack he's refering to my blog post??? Well that should do it for this volume of Crack Kills and remember Kids...........Crack is Whack like the Plumber bent over fixing your sink unless its a hot chick plumber which I dont think exist besides in my dreams, hahahaha.
****NOTE*** Its OK to cry when reading these posts, I know its a sad sight to see sometimes.
