Lead my team to 60 wins like my man Pat Ewing...

Vintage 1985 Ewing Hoyas Sand Knit jersey with some deadstock Ewing Boomer Mids to set it off. I've worn a lot of different Ewings over the years and this is the ONLY pair that hasn't cracked on me......built NEXT tough!

It's 2010 and you payin' Patrick Ewing.....last time I paid that number I was wearin Patrick Ewing's - Jeezy

Eastbay was kinda like the original Hypebeast if you will, the sneaker source before the internet. In the 90's there were no blogs or websites to go on and see the newest kicks coming out, either you had a friend working at Foot Locker with inside info or you waited for the Eastbay catalog to come in the mail. I remember flipping threw them for hours just circling all the sneakers I wanted and leaving where my parents would see, hoping they would get the hint. I actually kept a lot of them through the years (along with my Playboy's) but threw them out when I moved out of my parents after highschool. I still have about 12 deadstock pairs of Ewing's in stock and one of them is the Navy Boomer Mid's in the lower right corner. Above is the actual Catalog from 1993 featuring 9 different styles of the all mighty Ewing's......which pair did you have, or want???

Crack Kills Volume 8...

Its been awhile since my last relapse but last week I was feenin, so I had to break out some vintage kicks! I started off the week UNDS'ing a pair of 1984 Vandals which was a little nerve racking but they held up nicely with no sign of damage. Fast forward 5 days and the story line is bit different. I woke up in the morning craving a fix, so I went to my closet to grab a pair of vintage kicks. After some debate I felt like getting my Hoya Destroya on and went with some vintage Ewing Eclipse Hi's by Next Sports.........which I thought was a good idea at the time. My brillant plan turned into a nightmare hours later when I was at work and the sole almost fell off the shoe.
I dropped to my knees and asked GOD "Why? How could this happen and what did I do to deserve this??"
He said "Son you have played with fire (fire is a synonym for wearing vintage sneakers, get it) too many times so I have to teach you a lesson!"
I said "but Lord I like wearing vintage sneakers, what good are they if you cant wear them?"
He said "I understand your pain, I love wearing vintage sneakers too!"
I said "We're on the same page Lord, why would you let these fall apart on me if I only wore them to bring joy."
He said "Son you needed a new blog post so I was there to help you!"
I said "Why couldnt have given me another idea instead of ruining my sneakers?"
He said "No, it was time for a Crack Kills post"
I said "I guess you're right, thanks again!"
He Said "Anytime, Peace!"

"Somehow the vintage sneaker game reminds me of the crack game" - [Nas]

Thrillin or Chillin...

The Magic Johnson Thrillin's kinda look like a poorman's Jordan III. Whether you're THRILLIN on the court or CHILLIN on the trunk of your car you will always look fly with some Magic by Converse kicks!

Spider Bite...

I'm bringing Avia's back, these muthatruckers don't know how to act!! Check out these cool Avia's I found awhile back, they are named the Spider and rightfully so as you can see from the pics. These are basketball shoes but I'm not sure how it would hold up compared to todays technology but I can guarantee you one thing, you'd have the most random sneakers on the court!! The sneaker comes equipped with a spider keychain and special not on the box which states CHECK THESE SHOES FOR SPIDERS!!!!!! Honestly though these are pretty unique and overall not that bad looking minus the huge web on the tongue. Oh yeah I almost forgot, these are for athletic use only.......I wonder what would happen if you wore them for casual use??? P.S. I'm moving soon so I'll be listing a bunch of random vintage kicks so be sure to check ou my eBay store or else.......

History of Sneakers...

Check out this cool motion graphics piece created by David Park, a student graduating from PARSONS SCHOOL of DESIGN. This is his thesis project, featuring the history of sneaker culture. This is by far one of the most creative vidoes I've ever seen for sneakers and I hope he gets an A+ for his efforts :-) Source

X Marks the Spot...

So yesterday was the big Air Yeezy release and I had a major debate on my hands.....should I go grab the most Hyped pair of sneakers on the planet or go pick up a pair of the cool vintage sneakers? The choice was a no brainer and I went for the vintage of course. These might not be as sought after as the Yeezys but they are like a gazillion times cooler if you ask me. A couple months back I posted a pair of the the Xavier Mcdaniel X-Pro men and here is another pair of Xaviers that I have in stock. These are called the Power Forward and I can just imagine these help you dominate the paint with ease. These are similar to the X-Pro as they feature a bulky silhouette with minimal design and the signature X on the heel. The retail on these bad boys was $79.95 back in the day a lot cheaper than the Yeezys huh!!! Also its been rumored that if you wear these on the court you could end up choking someone out, hahahaha. Anyways just wanted to share some pics, ENJOY!!

X Marks The Spot...

I wonder if rapper DMX got his inspiration from Xavier McDaniel??? McDaniel was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1st round (4th overall) of the 1985 NBA Draft and he played for the Seattle SuperSonics, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and New Jersey Nets. What you thought I didnt have any XANTHUS sneakers in stock, hahahaha. Above are a pair of the X-PRO edition sneakers which feature high performance technology, the integrated system for the ultimate athlete. Assured to provide the best bounce with balancing stability which greatly reduces harmful impacts. In other words these sneakers give the powers to kick some ass on the court and even choke out (I mean that literally) opponents if necessary, LOLOLOLOL. Seriously though these feature a "power" strap like the Air Force 1's but are a bit more bulky throughout and you cant miss the signature X for the X-Man himself!!! Just wanted to share some pics, enjoy!

Wilson...

Above are some crazy vintage Wilson sneakers that I have in stock. You dont really here the name Wilson thrown around much anymore when talking about sneakers so this is a blast from the past! The name of the shoe is the Eminence Hi and these are on some next level shit, like Robocop meets Back to the Future. Honestly I could easily see Michael J Fox rockin these in the BTTH movies and maybe we would be buying Wilson hyperdunk retro's instead of Nike, hahahahaha. I got these last summer along with a bunch of old stock sneakers and I must saw these stood out like a sore thumb, in a good way!!! Im not sure the exact date these were produced but going off the other sneakers I got that day these were late 80s early 90s for sure. I dont think any nba players endorsed these but I bet they're kicking themselves after seeing these pics!! I can definitely see the Admiral or the Mailman rocking these back in the day, cant you??? Anyways just wanted to share some pics....ENJOY!!
