BO Knows Crewnecks...

BO was a freak of nature, at 6'1" 230 lbs, he "allegedly" ran a 4.12 40 yard dash at the 1986 NFL Combine. To put that into today's perspective if you took Usian Bolt's world record 100m time and converted it to 40 yrd dash time, he would only run a 4.19!!! Deadstock 1990 Bo crewnecks (Med & Lrg) in stock now!!

BO Knows Chicks...

We picked up a bunch of vintage minor league snapbacks yesterday and above is one of my favorites. The team is the Memphis Chicks (originally short for Chickasaws) and you might not know this but Bo made his professional baseball debut as a member of the Royals' Class AA Memphis Chicks on June 30, 1986. He spent most of the season with the Memphis Chicks in the minor leagues before being called up for regular duty in 1987, where he had 22 home runs, 53 RBIs and 10 stolen bases as an outfielder for the Royals. The logo above though was used in the 90s when Derek Lee played for them. Lee was the 1996 MVP of the Southern League with the Memphis Chicks and a year later made his major league debut with the San Diego Padres. The Memphis Chicks are no longer a Minor League team because In 1998, they moved to Jackson, TN and became the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, AA affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

BO Knows Birthday's...

Bo Jackson's birthday was the other day (November 30) and I forgot to do a post so here is a belated birthday post for the greatest 2 sport athlete ever!!! Vintage 1991 BO Caricature t-shirt with a vintage White Sox "REAL MEN WEAR BLACK" snapback to match! BO played 2 years (91,93) for the Chicago White Sox, mostly as a Designated Hitter, as his hip injury hampered his ability to play the outfield. It was with the White Sox that he made his only post-season appearance in the 93 ALCS, which Chicago lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in six games.

Tear Jerker...

Speaking of the BO Nike Trainers, these are probably my all time favorites!!! The 1989 Air Trainer SC II low in the White/Black/Lime Green colorway brings a tear to my eye like watching the movie Titanic......I'm the king of the world!!! Seriously though Nike NEEDS to retro these like yesterday and I'm not the only one who would be very happy with this decision! If the pair above were a 10.5 or 11 they would be mine but unfortunately they are a sz 10 :-( Source

BO is Back...

...with Nike and here's a taste of what's to come. The Bo Jackson's signature cross trainer, originally released in the 90's returns to Foot Locker a decade later. Bo was the perfect athlete for a cross-training shoe cutting across sporting boundaries, considering his multi-sport baseball/football background. This particular colorway matches up with his NFL alma mater the L.A. (now Oakland) Raiders. It features a black and grey upper, grey back heel wrap with a black Nike logo and a black outsole with grey accents. The shirt is also a new Nike tee and its pretty sick IMO but lets just keep our fingers crossed that Nike retros the AIR TRAINER SC II :-) Source

BO Knows BO...

I found this VHS when I was unpacking last week and totally forgot I had it. If you were a Bo Jackson fan than you've most likely seen this movie back in the day.
See BO hit!
See BO run!
See BO sing?

BO Knows Pink...

Usually when you think of BO Jackson you think of black & silver or royal blue & white, but Pink???? Above is a vintage BO Jackson Nike shirt that we have in stock which feature all BO's different characters from the 90s Nike ad campaign. This shirt is sick and I've never seen a Pink (actually more Salmon color, haha) BO Jackon shirt before in my life. Sometimes people forget how influential BO was to sports and how great he was at the height of his career. I often wonder if there will ever be another 2 sport pro athlete of his caliber.......only time will tell.

POSTERize...

Above is a vintage Bo jackson poster made by Sports Illustrated. The poster is dated 1989, back when Bo played for the KC Royals and really began to show his true potential. In 89 BO was voted to start for the American League All-Star team, and was named the game's MVP for his play on both offense and defense. Unfortunatley SI posters are the most boring of the bunch and I prefer Costacos and Nike posters with the themed images.

Paper or Plastic...

These jackets are actually made out of Tyvek but most people call them paper jackets. You've probably seen the USA Dream Team one I posted before but this one is insane! The Bo Trainers dropped the other day and they match this Knicks jacket perfect!!! The back of the jacket says New York's Biggest Thrill which hasnt been the case in decades but we'll see what happens next year with King James. I think Spike Lee should buy this to wear at the Knicks homeopener this year ;-)

Did You Know...

BO appeared on Sesame Street in a 1991 sketch spoofing his "Bo Knows" commercial, along with Bo Diddley and Bo Peep.

BO Knows Retros...

I think I know where I'm heading tomorrow.....Proper in Long Beach just got the retro Bo trainers! I need at least 2 purrs like Nelly needed air force 1's. If I cant get them I will be forced to break a bat over my knee and thats a promise! My cousin had the OG's and I always wanted to steal them from him because my dad wouldnt buy me a pair. Nike deserves a golf clap for bringing these bad boys back!

BO Knows Retros...

Easily one of MY most anticipated 09 retros from the Nike camp. These bring back memories, like the corner of my mind. Bo Jackson’s signature cross-trainer, the Air Trainer SC, returns nearly 10 years after its original launch, in its original colors. This is the color that was featured in the first “Bo Knows” commercials of the early 90’s, and helped establish the Air Trainer line as a success. The popular color and design were essential, but even more important was having a multi-sport athlete promote a multi-sport trainer. These will be hitting Footlockers in August which is only a little over a month away and you can chalk me down for at least 2 pairs!!! Source

BO can't Rap...

Above is the new Nike Air Trainer II LE silver and black aka Raiders colorway. These are an update on Bo Jackson’s original cross-trainer and feature a metallic silver swoosh and patent strap shine off of the black upper, with gray contrasting laces. The best part of the sneaker is by far the tongue which features a pixelated football player resembling the Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson character. These will be hitting Footlocker in July which is right around the corner so keep an eye out! Source
