I love finding random pictures of random white dudes wearing random vintage while standing next to NBA players. In this picture we have an unknown white guy (I'd say mid 30's, single, possible serial killer) in a 1992 Nuggets caricature shirt with Mutombo in the cut (possibly at a card show, signing his 92-93 Fleer Ultra Rejector card) rockin' the Malcolm X 40 Acres snapback......finger wave!!!

87-88 state of mind that I'm in...

I never noticed Mike Smerk was caricaturized until just now, amazing!! Did you know he has a Myspace page with 22 friends which include Earvin & Magic Johnson and of course the only other white guy on the 87-88 team, Kurt Rambis.......Chuuuuch!

"Say Hey Kid"...

It is not clear how Mays became known as the "Say Hey Kid". One story is that in 1951, Barney Kremenko, a writer for the New York Journal, having overheard Mays blurt "'Say who,' 'Say what,' 'Say where,' 'Say hey,'" proceeded to refer to Mays as the 'Say Hey Kid'.

The other story is that Jimmy Cannon created the nickname because, when Mays arrived in the minors, he did not know everyone's name. "You see a guy, you say, 'Hey, man. Say hey, man,' " Mays said. "Ted Williams was the 'Splinter'. Joe DiMaggio was 'Joltin' Joe'. Stan Musial was 'The Man'. I guess I hit a few home runs, and they said there goes the 'Say Hey Kid.'"

Any Bobby Humphrey fans out there???? I hope so because we have a gazillion vintage NWT Bobby Humphrey's caricature tees in stock and I'm not quite sure what to do with them. Drafted by the Broncos in 1989, Humphrey had a breakout year and would've won the ROY award if not for a guy named Barry.......Sanders that is! I'm sure there are some die-hard Broncos fans that can appreciate this caricature bliss!
