I don't give a fuck about you or your weak crew....

Even Diddy was celebrating the Bruins Stanley Cup victory last night!!!! Only God Saves More than Thomas!!!! Hey Kesler, "Dont cry, dry your eye, here comes you mother with those two little guys (Sedin brothers)." Why did Roberto Luongo stop two people from having sex? Because he wanted to know what it was like to stop someone from scoring!!!

Varsity (Jacket) Blues...

I have a small obsession with Varsity Jackets and I was watching this one on eBay a couple weeks back. I wasnt going to bid on it but I wanted to see what it sold for and it ended at $280. A newer varsity jacket can retail for upwards of $500 and this bad boy is 40+ yrs old and cooler than most. The Blackhawks have had the same logo since 1964/65 but you know the old sayin; if it aint broke, dont fix it and this logo is too good to be messed with! Also check out the old Butwin tag which is classic!!!
From the Seller:
The item up for bid is a true 1960s vintage Chicago Blackhawks BUTWIN wool/leather varsity jacket...complete with the original Butwin tagging in the collar, which was the brand of choice for the Blackhawks back in the good old days. This jacket is a very heavyweight leather and wool construction, as it was intended for colder weather...I don't think of this so much as a wearable but more of a displayable, collectible item. The looks of it are simply stunning in my opinion. The bold colors, and intricate embroidery work on the cresting and tomahawks make this one grab you right away. This was reported to have come from a former Blackhawk and these are the same types players were issued. The only other jacket like this that I have ever seen offered for sale, was Pit Martin's and it sold for $850 years ago

Walk Like A Penguin...

Just a couple combos I threw together today at the store. Vintage Mario Lemieux caricature t-shirt and a vintage Penguins Salem t-shirt with a white or black script hat to match! The Penguins have a good chance of winning back to back titles this year and buying one these fits would better their chances if you ask me ;-) P.S. If you do buy a hat and go to a game where Crosby scores a hat trick I recommend not throwing it on the ice.

Fitted Fridays...
Its like Friday Night Lights in this beeeatch!! It was a tough decision but todays vintage fitted is a New York Islanders New Era featuing the "Fisherman" logo. This hat is dope and super rare because this logo was only used for 1 year!!! Before the 1995–96 season the Islanders attempted to update their look. The result was the unveiling of a logo depicting a fisherman holding a hockey stick. The logo was a marketing disaster; the reaction among the fan base was so negative that management announced it would revert back to the original logo as soon as league rules allowed them to do so. The traditional logo returned as part of 1996-97's third jersey, and then became the main jersey the following year. We only have 1 in stock, sz 7 1/4 so holler if you're interested!

Opposite of Angel...

If the "Devil" wore vintage gear, which is a possibility, he would definitely rock this combo!! Vintage NJ Devils Starter jacket with the Sports Specialties script hat to match = FIRE!!!! I've been posting a lot of combos lately for the Holidays so people can tell Santa what they want from And Still instead of getting more underwear or socks :-)

With The Hat To Match...
Vintage Habs DeLong jacket with the Sports Specialties script hat to match!! I used to frequent Montreal back in the day, not for hockey though, strictly for the beer and strip clubs but thats a story for another day. I do know this though, the combo above is tougher than leather!
Question: Why are the Montreal Canadiens called the Habs?
Answer: Habs is an abbreviation of "les habitants," the informal name given to the original settlers of New France, dating back to the 17th Century. So it's a natural fit for the The Montreal Canadiens, established in 1909 and marketed as a French-Canadian hockey team.
Having said that, the nickname might have been the result of an error. According to NHL.com, the first man to refer to the team as "the Habs" was Tex Rickard, owner of Madison Square Garden, in 1924. Rickard apparently told a reporter that the "H" on the Canadiens' sweaters was for "Habitants." Not true. The distinctive C-wrapped-around-H logo stands for "Club de Hockey Canadien."

Winter Classic...

Artist Rendering:

Bruins Winter Classic jersey:

I'm kinda bummed I'm not back in New England for the new year because I would love to go see the Bruins v Flyers winter classic game at Fenway Park. At first there were talks about the Bruins' opponent being the Canadiens which would've been amazing but the Flyers agreed and to be honest does it matter who they're playing....

With The Hat To Match...

Last week I posted a vintage Winnipeg Jets Shain jacket and we just got in a vintage Vancouver Canucks one which is equally as dope!! Also pictured is the super rare vintage Sports Specialties script hat which goes together like ice and Eskimos. The Canucks "skate logo" was used from 1980 - 1997 and was by far their best logo IMO. Whenever I see the old Canucks logo I think of Pavel Bure back in the early 90's. I used to collect cards back in the day and remember when pulling a 1990 Pavel Bure Upper Deck Young Guns RC was all the rage..........now you get one for $1.00 on eBay.

Snapback of the Week...
This might not be the rarest or most sought after snapback but its a sick looking hat. The hat was made by #1 Apparel which was a hat maufacturing company back in the day. Although they werent as big as Starter & Sports Specialties they still pumped out quality hats. The hat features duel logos (front & side) and a grey underbrim. My favorite part of the hat is the side logo with the hockey stick and palm tree, makes me wanna go to Fort Lauderdale and kick it with old people hahaha.
The Great One...

Gretzky put LA on the map in terms of hockey but times have changed. I live in LA now and this is the farthest thing from a hockey town. Something about ICE hockey in sunny California just doesnt seem right. The beauty of LA weather though is you can buy this shirt and wear it all year round which is definitely a plus in my book. Dated 1990, brand new wit tags and ready for your torso......what are you waiting for!

Kings Ransom...

Watching "Kings Ransom"....chronicling the 1988 trade of hockey star Wayne Gretzky from the Edmonton Oilers to the LA Kings by Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg as part of the network's 30 for 30 series (30 docs celebrating ESPN's 30 years). Peter Berg actually came by the store about a month ago to get some vintage gear and scooped up the Nike Gretzky tee above. The shirt was from the late 80s when the trade went down and the front read "THE ICEMAN COMETH".

As Seen On...

Chris Brown rockin a vintage Boston Bruins denim starter hat from the store. This is honestly one of the best vintage snapbacks we have in stock right now. The denim crown with the yellow brim would make Bobby Orr jump through the air with joy (he was actually tripped by Blues' defenseman Noel Picard, but you get the point)!! We have them in-store and on eBay but dont sleep because there arent many left!

Sports Design...

Jim over at Sports Design Blog just did a great article on the store. I randomly came across his blog while searching vintage sports apparel and I was pleasntly suprised when I started to read the blog. Everyone knows Im a huge fan of not only vintage apparel but also team logos and SDB brings both together flawlessly. The thing I love most abut the blog is the compariosn bewtween old and new logos and how they've changed over the years. The blog also has a lot of similarties to mine like vintage posters, vintage caricature shirts, vintage sneakers + much much more! Do yourself a favor and check it out for yourself. Thanks Jim!
