Cause when my back's against the wall, I REACT...

Last week I went back to a dig spot that I found years ago to see if they still had anything good leftover. I found a bunch of Starter snapbacks but they had too much storage damage so I passed on them along with some vintage Nike's in small sizes with no boxes. However I did manage to find 5 pairs of deadstock vintage Cons React's hidden in the back room. The Johnson & Johnson's as you could say were some of my favorite sneakers growing up and they still rank high on my all time sneaker list. The Aero Jam's were Larry Johnson's signature shoe and originally released in two Hornets colorways. white and black (shown above) with teal accents. The main feature of the sneaker was a removable lace cover and the almighty React juice! Then there were the Kevin Johnson's that were introduced in 1993 as the Run N' Gun but some critics objected to the shoe's name as "too violent" and Converse changed the name Run N' Slam. The sneaker featured the patented React juice which was a combination of gas & gel built into the heel to absorb shock and provide additional maneuvering control. The Run N' Slam's were sleeker and lighter than the Aero Jam's but not nearly as popular. I'm a little salty that none of them are my size but.....these are the breaks!!!

Turn illegal for commerce, to get his feet out of them Converse...

I saw these when they first dropped but I couldnt justify spenfing $125 on a pair of chucks even if John Varvatos blessed them with his magic touch. However they went to 50% off recently and I couldnt pass em up.........Real Men Wear Green!!!

Choose Your Weapon...

Undefeated is back with their 2nd installment of the Converse Poormans Weapon. The first pair (black/orange) dropped earlier this year and now the second colorway is set to drop next weekend. Like a lot of Undftd's sneaker collabos the inspiration comes from the classic military bomber jacket. Details include an upper decked out in flight jacket nylon, property tags, removable logo patches and a fresh orange lining. These will sell out just as fast if not faster than the black ones so you better be on your A game next Saturday May 16th.

Classic...

First released in 1917 the Converse Chuck Taylor is still going strong!! If these dont define classic than I dont know what does. The Chuck Taylors have gone through ups and downs throughout the years but have always maintained a cult following and never strayed away from what got them into the game in the first place.....simplicity!!! Above are the new Chuck Taylor Hi Mono (monochromatic) that feature 1 solid color throughout and a translucent logo on the heel which almost blends into the sneaker going unnoticed. The 3 colorways (charcoal, chocolate and royal) pictured above are slated to release this September. Source FootLockerUnlocked

Game Worn...

Above are some vintage Converse All Stars that I picked up about a year ago. Im not 100% sure they are game worn but the seller stated that they were left behind in the locker room after a game during the 1984-85 season. I tried figuring out who could've worn these but havent had any luck so I might try and send them off to get autenticated. The sneakers are a size 16 but there is no name or number markings anywhere on the sneaker that could help provide more info. I mean the 84-85 Celtics team was one of the best teams in history IMO and if these were worn by anybody on that team Id be more than happy. The big 3 all wore converse back in the day but I can only find pics with them wearing black converse weapons or wave conquest. If anyone has any info that copuld help out please email me, thanks!

Choose Your Weapon...

Above are pics of the Undftd x Converse that are dropping Saturday the 24th. The sneakers are dubbed the Poorman’s Weapon and feature a much more sleek and slim profile compared to the original weapons. The shoes are inspired by MA-1 flight jackets which include a satin upper, interchangeable velcro patches and an orange liner like the jackets themselves. Undftd used the same concept in 05 for their Jordan IV collabo and overall I think these are one of the nicest Converse I've seen in a long time!! These will be available at Undftd and other select retailers such as Bodega in Boston.

Choose Your Weapon...

These right here bring back memories of the greatest Rivalry of all time between Magic & Bird!!! Although they werent (and still arent IMO) the flashiest sneakers ever they have stood the test of time and are classic whether you like it or not! The Converse weapon paved the way for the future of sneakers in the NBA from Michael Jordan to Lebron James. I think the Celtics should have a throwback night and everyone on the team should rock the black weapon's, eventhough some players are under Nike contract. These are available now at Solebox.
