Another pickup from the flea market Sunday, vintage bootleg Bussa Buss t-shirt. I used to always buy the bootleg tees at concerts because they usually had cooler graphics, they were cheaper which meant more money for beer and the next day at school everyone would have on the same licensed tee while I had on the bootleg.....chicks flocked!

Vintage deadstock 1994 Ice Cube Lethal Injection shirt. Probably the Cube cd I listened to most in highschool, Ghetto Bird was always on in the background. We have stacks of vintage rap tees on ice....... @DJALBIE & DJKevinScott patiently waiting!

New Year, same objective....keep bringing the heat! Crazy stupid rare vintage 1991 Business as Usual tour tee!!! I've only seen one other and it sold on eBay a few months back for $360!! Its from my personal collection but its a little snug on me so it could be for sale, on a website, soon.

100 Miles and Runnin'

This shirt is so DOPE its not even funny! Released in 1990 (I was in like 6th grade at the time) 100 Miles and Runnin' was the first N.W.A. album after Ice Cube had left the group a year earlier, and the group makes numerous sardonic references to its former member. On the title track, Dre states "It started with five one couldn't take it / So now there's four 'cause the fifth couldn't make it" to dismiss Ice Cube as a coward. On the song "Real Niggaz" MC Ren states "Only reason niggaz pick up your record is cause they thought it was us", referring to the success of Ice Cube's first solo album AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted which had been released earlier that year.

G is for Gucci...

This is the by far the dopest vintage Dapper Dan jacket I have ever seen. This looks almost identical to the ones Eric B & Rakim wore on the Follow the Leader cover minus of course there names on the back. The jacket features a black velour base, the traditional GG print on the front/sleeves, gold satin piping/lettering and a huge back patch!! Not to many people can pull this off but it would be be sick for a photo shoot or even Gucci Mane's next video lolololol

Battle of the Track Suit...

I will be doing a 4 part POLL called Battle of the Track Suit to determine the best vintage track suit that I have in stock. Whether you call it a warm-up suit, a track suit or a Guido Tuxedo (thats my favorite) everyone has owned one at some point in their life. The track suit has been a staple in sports, music and fashion for over 40 years now. In 1964, Adidas began to produce tracksuits as leisure wear. These had the distinctive Adidas three stripes, zipped trouser bottoms and collars, and stirrups, features which remained popular for decades. The emergence of tracksuits as a fashion item began in the 1970s and although they were at first mostly worn by athletes, tracksuits became increasingly fashionable in the hip hop community in the 80s.

If you're a hip hop fan and don't know who Dapper Dan is, slap yourself and then google him!! For real though Dapper Dan was the man behind all the custom designer gear back in the day. The most recognizable rappers who wore Dapper Dan were probably Eric B and Rakim who killed the custom Gucci joints on the Paid in Full and Follow the Leader cover. Other rappers styled by Dapper Dan were Salt & Pepper, Biz Markie, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane etc.. The bottom line is whether you love it or hate it, you gotta respect it because that's a part of hip hop history!

Rick the Ruler...

This is probably 1 of my top 10 vintage t-shirts that I've ever come across. The shirt is from The Great Adventures of Slick Rick LP which released in 1988. Im not sure if its a concert tee or just a shirt sold at local record stores but it really doesnt matter because its so DOPE! Rick the Ruler has one of the most unique flows in hip hop and his first LP included hit songs such as "Teenage Love", "Children's Story", "Hey Young World" & " La Di Da Di". Originally from South Wimbledon, London, England, he moved with his family to The Bronx in 1975 where he met Dana Dane, later forming a hip hop duo as Kangol Crew. Rick's characteristic eyepatch was acquired after being blinded in the right eye by broken glass as an infant. Once he gained a degree of wealth, he earned a reputation for wearing an enormous amount of gold and diamond jewelry, including many large necklaces with giant pendants, bracelets, huge rings on each finger, and a gold tooth......the rest is history.

Rick the Ruler makes any track better IMO and Mos kills it as usual.......take a listen!

Bucket Hat...

I remember when buckets hat were the all the rage and everyone rocked them with the button down starter jersey's. As far back as you go rappers were always wearing the bucket hat......from Big Bank Hank in the Rappers Delight Video to LL Cool J and Run DMC rockin the Kangol to EPMD on the unfinished Business cover to Ice Cube wearing the Raiders and Jay Z wearing the Gucci bucket hat. I'm not sure if they will ever be as cool as they were back in the 80s/90s but you cant knock the bucket hat because its been part of the hip hop fashion evolution. I have one LA Kings in stock that I grabbed at a flea market earlier this year and I must say its pretty dope and I might try to bring them back, word to Jimmy Walker......DYN-O-MITE!!!

The other day I posted the video of Rick Rubin & Jay Z making 99 Problems and now it looks like the legendary producer has teamed up with the Clipse aka kings of the coke flow. It should be interesting to see what comes out of this collaboration!! The Clipse is currently aiming for a late-summer release for Til the Casket Drops, with the first single "Kinda Like a Big Deal," produced by DJ Khalil and featuring Kanye West set to drop March 9th. Russell and Rick...

Def Jam was founded by Rick Rubin in his dorm room at New York University and its first release was a single by his rock group, Hose. Russell Simmons joined Rubin shortly after when they were introduced to each other by DJ Jazzy Jay. The first single released with a Def Jam Recordings logo was T La Rock & Jazzy Jay "It's Yours". I actually had an original T LA Rock Def Jam jacket but I sold it awhile ago but its in good hands. You really cant say enough about Russell and Rick because they were the forefathers of bringing hip hop mainstream and paved the way for a lot of what you see now-a-days...besides the fact its 90% junk compared to the old music.
