We got this vintage YO Mtv Raps leather jacket in today and we sold it like an hour later...thats called a quick flip!! The real issue however is that Mtv sucks donkey balls now!!! I used to watch videos all day long and YO Mtv Raps was like a religion but now its reality crap 24-7. Thats enough venting for me, I got bigger fish to fry!

DJ Scratch rocking the vintage Raiders script hat on a 1991 YO Mtv Raps card. Scratch was introduced to EPMD by Jam Master Jay at the Run's House Tour after DJ K LA Boss left EPMD. Impressed by his skills, the two designated DJ Scratch as their official D.J. by their second album Unfinished Business in 1989.

Remote Control...

Remote Control was the shit back in the late 80s, early 90s!! I used to watch it all the time and always wished I could be a contestant, but that dream never came true. Unfortunately this news isn't about a reunion episode (although that would be amazing) or anything of that nature rather some sad news with the passing of Ken Ober yesterday. Ken who was born in Brookline MA was best known for hosting MTV's Remote Control for 5 seasons but also continued hosting on shows like Make Me Laugh, Smush and an ESPN game show called Perfect Match. We actually have a vintage neon Remote Control t-shirt in stock (shown above) which is a great reminder of the classic groundbreaking Mtv show that was Remote Control!

YO! MTV Raps host Doctor Dre rockin a vinage Skidz sweatshirt. I used to wear Skidz pants back in the day all the time because it was like wearing pajamas to school. I always loved the logo, dont ask me why because I think its super cheesy. I might have to rock this sweat with a pair of Goldenrod dunks. FYI Skidz was first formed in 1986. The logo is the rear of an automobile swerving away and leaving skid marks. Skidz was best known for their very colorful flannel pants, which achieved popularity in the early 90's.

I want my MTV...

I had this picture saved on my computer for awhile and Ive always wondered where it originally came from. Ive tried numerous times to find out the history behind these but always come up empty. MTV debut in 1981 and the AF1 debut a year later in 82 so maybe it was for a 1 year anniversary or something?? I almost want to say that these were promo for the 1st MTV music video awards but again I have no idea whatsoever. I wonder how many are left floating around the world and I'd love to hear the back story so if anyone has any info feel free to post it in the comment box below so everyone can see, thanks!
