2 Black, 2 Strong, 2 Live....

Remember The Phil Donahue Show??? If not, you didn't miss much. The show aired throughout the 90s which was the peak of the Hip Hop boom and the huge controversy with Miami based 2 Live Crew's 1989 album "As Nasty As They Wanna Be". A year later in 1990 Phil Donahue had a show about the whole rap vs. mainstream sensibilities issue which included a panel discussion of people from both sides of the fence AND (drum roll pleas) a live performance of “Face Down, Ass Up” by the 2 Live Crew themselves. Donahue filled his audience with a bunch of white folks (some older than dirt) with the point clearly being shock value, and shock they did. Without further ado, Uncle Luke rocking a vintage Chiefs Starter hat in one of the greatest rap videos of all time.....ENJOY!!!
