The Loma Prieta earthquake, which occurred on October 17 before Game 3, caused a 10-day disruption in the 1989 World series. During that time off Kevin Mitchell & Jose Canseco would meet at Crazy Horse where they would settle the real "Battle of the Bay" by playing homerun derby with "The Pitching Machine" (Beer League) in the champagne room. Canseco was the favorite to win but on the last night Mitchell went on a roll, hitting everything in sight including 3 strippers. Before leaving Mitchell screamed "My offense is impregnable and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat your children. Praise be to Allah!" Yeah, Tyson stole that line from Mitchell....and the gold tooth steez!
In related news @JoseCanseco tweeted earlier this week: "I'm doing a porn next week. We'll bring a donkey to it's knees baby"....... a couple weeks back I posted the vintage Bash Bros poster and said dont get them confused with the Bang Bros but looks like Jose wasnt listening!!
