Garnett & Marbury...

I think KG & Starbury would've been one of the best dynamic duo's in NBA history if they stayed together. Eleven years ago, Marbury and Garnett were the new generations answer to John Stockton and Karl Malone. Kevin Garnett was drated by the T-Wolves in 1995 and was the 1st player since Moses Malone & Darryl Dawkins to come out of high school. Although KG had a very respectable rookie year the Wolves suffered through their seventh consecutive sub-30 win season. Before the 1996 draft the Wolves made a trade for point guard Stephon Marbury who was also KG's best friend. It seemed the stars had aligned for the timberwolves and things were starting to look up. He, along with Kevin Garnett, led the Timberwolves to the NBA Playoffs in 1997 and 1998 but Marbury had a fallout with Timberwolves management stemming from a dispute with coaches about his role in the offense and subsequently In 1999 Marbury broke up the partnership, forced his way out of Minnesota and hasnt been the same since. After 12 years with the Wolves Garnett thankfully came over to the Celtics and won the title his first year!! P.S. At least they took some great photos back then like the pool hall pic, the family portrait pic and the bling bling pic!!

You're right and there were even more than Moses & Dawkins to come out of highschool but they are the most significant. Happy New Year!!
