Poster of the week...

Above is another vintage poster I picked up a couple weeks back at the flea market. This poster is called the Patriot Missile and features none other than Drew Bledsoe . Where do I start with Bledsoe, he was drafted first overall in the 1993 draft by the New England Patriots and immediately improved the team and helped them earn their first postseason appearance in eight years. In 1996 Bledsoe led the Patriots to an appearance in Super Bowl XXXI, where they lost 35-21 against the Green Bay Packers...damn you cheeseheads!!! Fast forward 5 years and during the second game of the 2001 season, Bledsoe was hit by New York Jets linebacker Mo Lewis while running upright to make it out of bounds. Replacing Bledsoe at quarterback, soon-to-be All-Pro Tom Brady led the Patriots to an eventual Super Bowl championship. Though he never regained his starting role, Bledsoe nevertheless proved integral to his team's playoff run when he replaced a hobbled Brady in the AFC Championship Game against Pittsburgh. Bledsoe, starting from the Steelers 40 yard line, capped a scoring drive with an 11 yard touchdown pass to David Patten to seal a 24-17 victory. In gaining the conference title Bledsoe completed 10 of 21 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown against no interceptions.

I always liked Bledsoe but him getting hurt might have been the best thing EVER for the Patriots franchise as Brady aka Mr Bundchen would lead us to 3 Super Bowl championships (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX)!!!
