Stuntin like my Daddy...

I havent done one of these posts in awhile so here goes nothing! Above are some Vintage Mutombo Adidas for you and your seed, sz 3.5 and sz 10.5!!! If I had the matching vintage kids Mutombo track suit that would game over (insert Lil Flip hook). Ive posted the Adidas Mutombo's before so no need to go into a whole schpeel about them just look at the pics and wipe drool from face, simple as that. I'm glad Adidas didn't retro these because from the samples I saw they would've ruined them and that would've gotten a big finger wave IMO. Baby & Lil Wayne ain't got nothing on me and my stash of father & son vintage apparel!!! P.S. To get the full experience play the video while looking at the pics, hahahaha

Sweet'N Low CLassic...

Classic look. Simple colors. Basic silhouette. The perforated upper gives some depth and texture to the design. This black/red Nike Sweet Classic Low is solid, right down to its vulcanized sole. These will be available at Foot Locker in time for Holiday ‘09, along with some other Sweet Classics. Source

Battle of the Track Suit pt 2...

For the 2nd poll in the "Battle of the Track Suit" I went with some NBA greats who were influential both on and off the court. I had a bunch of Jordan suits but I picked my favorite one out of the bunch and I also had a Knicks colorway Ewing top but not the pants. Anyways this is a tough choice for me but I think I know which one I like best, lets see what you guys (& girls) think!!!!!

The Jordan V grape suit is one of the most popular vintage Jordan suits for the simple reason, people love the colorway. Also the suit has zip off sleeves which turns the top into a vest which makes it even cooler and transformer like!!!

The Mutombo track suit was made to match the Dikembe Adidas but surprisingly it wasn't produced by Adidas. This track suit is BANANAS, from the crazy African print to the big 55 logo on the back.......this screams Mutombo finger wave!!

The Ewing suit is a little different from the other two seeing how its short sleeve and has the tearaway pants, more traditional NBA warm-up suit. The suit is made by Adidas which Ewing endorsed throughout the 80s and has the #33 embroidered on the front as well as the big Ewing logo on the back!!

Infrared VI...

10 years later and I think its safe to say that these will be the most anticipated Jordn retro of this decade. Last retroed in 2000 the Jordan VI Infrared is making a comeback in Januuary 2010. Now you might think 2010 is a long ways away but au contraire thats only 7 more months!! For this release I dont think its a question of will you be buying these rather how many will pairs will you be buying!!! There is no exact release date set but just the thought itself should be good enough for the time being. Source

As Seen On...

Tony Parker rockin some DS vintage Nike Robisnon Command Forces. I'm not sure the back story of the pic but I thought it was a cool to see a NBA star rocking some vintage heat. P.S. I wonder if he actually wore them and if so did they crack on him??? Command Force pics via Arkamix

Chum...

Just a heads up, Kawsone still has the new Chum keychains available and they are $60 for the whole set. The No Future Companion sold out quickly as expected but these might be around for a couple more days so if you're interested scoop them up before there gone!

Death of Autotune...

Fresh off his electric performance last night during the BET awards ceremony, Jay-Z follows up with the official video release for his “Death of Autotune” track featuring guest appearances from Lebron James and Gene Hackman? No subliminals in this one, clearly the message direct and to the point, check it out. Meanwhile, Jay’s 11th solo effort, Blueprint 3 is slated for release on September 11th, 2009. Source

History of Sneakers...

Check out this cool motion graphics piece created by David Park, a student graduating from PARSONS SCHOOL of DESIGN. This is his thesis project, featuring the history of sneaker culture. This is by far one of the most creative vidoes I've ever seen for sneakers and I hope he gets an A+ for his efforts :-) Source

High Life...

Oh yeah and the Miller High Life at Sneakerpimps were $6 a pop........I was waiting for the High Life guy from the commercials to come in and confiscate them, haha!!!!!

SNKRPMPS NYC...

Went to Sneakerpimps on Friday night at Terminal 5 in NYC. I had never been before so I wanted to swing by to check it out and also see the homie TTK who was doing a live painting session. Seeing how MJ (RIP) passed away a day prior TTK decided to go with "The King of Pop" tribute which as you can see from the pics above came out amazing!!!! The show featured a bunch of cool sneaker exhibits as well as sneaker trading, live art installments and an x-box competition. DJ Clark Kent started the night off with a little MJ tribute mix and there were also performances by Wale, the Cool Kids, Clipse etc.. Overall it was a good time, good music, good people and I enjoyed the show!

Thriller...

When I got home yesterday I went digging through some old records that I have and found the Thriller album. I really dont need to go into how huge this album was and the impact it had on music in a whole but it doesnt get much better than this. I also found some pics of a vintage MJ Thriller t-shirt from 1984 that I had in stock awhile back, such a classic shirt! I was in NYC this weekend and MJ was blasting through the city all weekend which was awesome to hear.......it still doesnt seem real.

Get Wet...

Gotta love the Sperry Slogan! Anyways I was in NYC this weekend and picked up these Sperry Top-Sider Bahama Chukkas, which might I add feel like butter on your feet (does that even make sense?). If you're a fan of the Vans chukkas than you might like these as well. These were about the only thing I bought but my girl on the other hand did some damage.........dont they always ;-)

Since 1935, Sperry Top-Sider has been the leading brand of footwear for those who love the water. From its introduction of the world's first siped rubber outsole for non-marking traction, to advanced technical fabrication to combat the elements, Sperry Top-Sider remains the vanguard of high-performance amphibious footwear.

BO Knows Retros...

Easily one of MY most anticipated 09 retros from the Nike camp. These bring back memories, like the corner of my mind. Bo Jackson’s signature cross-trainer, the Air Trainer SC, returns nearly 10 years after its original launch, in its original colors. This is the color that was featured in the first “Bo Knows” commercials of the early 90’s, and helped establish the Air Trainer line as a success. The popular color and design were essential, but even more important was having a multi-sport athlete promote a multi-sport trainer. These will be hitting Footlockers in August which is only a little over a month away and you can chalk me down for at least 2 pairs!!! Source

New York, New York...

I havent been to NY in awhile so tomorrow I'm heading to the Big Apple for a few days. Like I always say, I'll try to keep the blog updated this weekend but if I slack a little (or a lot) it just means I'm having a good time so you cant really blame me :-)

The Results are in...

After a sleepless night of tallying up the votes, there is a clear winner for the 1st "Battle of the track Suit" poll. There were 23 million votes received (actually only 23 but the million sounds better) and the winner is none other than LL Cool J and the vintage Troop suit!!!! I agree with the votes and have to say that the velour LL Cool J Troop suit is by far the top dog of the litter when it comes to vintage hip hop track suits. The Adidas full leather joint is also a classic but just not as eye catching and the Dapper Dan suit is more traditional than the others. Anyways thanks to everyone who voted on Part 1 and stay tuned for Part 2 on Sunday or Monday.

King of Pop...

RIP to the greatest pop star of all time.........

World Cup...

Check out these cool World Cup soccer USB flash drives......you just remove the head and insert the body into your computer. Available in one of five countries: Italy, Portugal, Germany, The Netherlands, Croatia..........where the USA????? Each drive has 1GB storage and cost about $30. Source

Futbol...

Sunday June 28 2:30pm is the FIFA Confererations Cup Finals: USA vs Brazil. The US must be feeling good after a major upset against Spain and hopefully they can ride that momentum8m into Sunday and win the championship!!!!

Hat Head...

CapCity just previed some new custom fitteds on their blog and a couple of them caught my eye. The first one is the oldschool Boston Bruins logo (gotta rep the home teams) which the team used from 1927-1932. The brown and yellow combo might not be the best colorway ever but it has that oldschool Boston Garden feel to it! The second hat is the old Bucks logo featuring "Bango" which was used from 1969-1993. This is one of my favorite vintage NBA logos of all time and the the Hunter Green and Kelly Green colorway is dope! These havent dropped yet but usually when they do a preview the release is right around the corner, so keep an eye out!

More than Meets the Eye...

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen came out today...............and Megan Fox is hot!

Watch Out...

Taking it back to the old school, cuz Im an old fool, who's so cool!! This watch is dope.......they dont make em like they used to. Source

High Plains Drifter...

"I feel like Steve McQueen a former movie star, look in my rearview mirror seen a police car" Beastie Boys-High Plains Drifter

I think I'll still be bumpin Paul's Boutique when I'm like 70yrs old!!!!

Steve McQueen...

The Persol 714 aka the Steve McQueens are next up on my sunglasses list. Persol 714 sunglasses are perhaps most recognized and given iconic status from Steve McQueen who was seen wearing the classic shades both off screen and on screen in movies such as the "Thomas Crown Affair" and the "The Getaway". In fact a pair of 714's from McQueen's personal collection was recently auctioned for a stunning $70,000 in 2006. I mean you cant go wrong with a classic pair of sunglasses that never go out of style and to me these are exactly that.

McQueen...

Above are two upcoming colorways for the Clae Fall 2009 season, in their popular McQueen sneaker model. I'm always looking for Navy sneakers so I might have to scoop those up and the Merlot pair is nice as well. Look for these at select Clae retailers soon. Source

Posterize...

Above is a vintage 1996 Olympics - Dream Team III poster that I have in stock. The third dream team participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The star quality of the team was impressive as it featured five members of the original Dream Team (Barkley, Malone, Pippen, Robinson, and Stockton), plus two other members of the NBA 50 Greatest Players list in Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaquille O'Neal. Lenny Wilkens coached the team. The Americans won another gold medal with an average margin of victory of 32.3 points per game. They captured the gold medal after defeating Serbia and Montenegro 95–69. Random Fact: Glen Robinson (shown in the poster above) was named to the team but was forced to withdraw due to injury and Gary Payton of Seattle Supersonics replaced him.

With the Hat to Match...

Jordan Olympic VII's x Vintage USA Dream Team pro player hat!!!

Olympic Torch...

Got some NDS Jordan Olympic VII's in today. The last pair I had was beat so I needed a new pair for the summer. I love that pic of MJ lacing up a fresh new pair before the game!

No Future Companion...

I saw the leaked pics of this Kaws figure awhile back and wasnt really feelin it but now that I see the detailed pics its pretty amazing. OriginalFake unveils a closer look into the highly anticipated collaborative metal figure concoction between KAWS and famed Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama. A manifestation of Hajime Sorayama’s original painting in 2006, the 13″ figure comes to life with a fully-posable robotic metal finish. With a retail price of $980 I will probably pass but after seeing these pics its tempting. Source

Don't QUOTE me on it...

"Most people would rather be certain they 're miserable, than risk being happy" -Robert Anthony

Life's too short to be miserable IMO, so why not take a chance doing something that makes you happy. The worst case scenario it doesn't work out and you're back where you started..........but at least you can say you tried!!!

OutLINEd in CHALK...

Martin Luther "The Chalk Line King" Jr is back with another gem from the vault. Clyde the Glide.....named one of the 50 greatest players, Hall of Famer, NBA Champion, 10x All Star and a dancing with the stars alumni. This jacket is En Fuego and if you're a die-hard Blazers fan it doesn't get much better than this!!

Phi Slama Jama...

Olajuwon emigrated from Nigeria to play basketball at the University of Houston under Cougars where he and his teammates (including Clyde Drexler) formed what was dubbed "Phi Slama Jama", the first slam-dunking "fraternity", so named because of its well-known above the rim prowess and tendency to frequently slam dunk the basketball. The duo would later team up again in the 1994-95 season when Drexler was aquired in a mid-season trade with the Portland Trail Blazers which helped the Rockets repeat as champions in 1995. Above is a vintage caricature tee I have in stock from that championship year.

The Dream...

I'm pretty sure Ive never owned a pair of Etonic's in my life but if I was to buy a pair the Hakeems would be my choice. Hakeem Olajuwon aka "The Dream" was selected first overall by the Rockets in the 1984 NBA Draft. Hakeem would have likely finished top in the Rookie of the Year voting, except for one thing: Michael Jordan came in first that year. Hakeem came into the league rocking Etonic's like the pair shown above and later endorsed LA Gear and Spalding sneakers. Olajuwons is one of the very few known players in any professional sport to endorse a sneaker not from Nike, Reebok, Adidas, or other high retail brands. As Olajuwon declared: "How can a poor working mother with three boys buy Nikes or Reeboks that cost $120?" he asks. "She can't. So kids steal these shoes from stores and from other kids and sometimes kill for them. I think Etonic should make a comeback and retro these bad boys, what do you think???

The latest leg of the tour will not only offer access to the traveling sneaker showcase but live performances by Big Boi, Jadakiss, Clipse, The Cool Kids and Wale. Other highlights include an Xbox 360 video game battle and live painting installations by my homie TTK so you dont wanna miss it! #1 Dad...

This wouldve been good to post yesterday seeing how it was Fathers Day but better late than never. Above is a promotional ad for Dexter season 4 which begins September 27th........I cant wait!!!!

I'm your Pusher...

Above is the new Clipse feat. Kanye West - Kinda Like a Big Deal video. The Clipse 1st cd Lord Willin' is a classic IMO but I wasnt a huge fan of the sophmore followup Hell Hath No Fury. After some label drama in the past couple years the Clipse eventualy signed with Columbia Records and look to get back to the top with their highly anticipated album “Til the Casket Drops” set to drop sometime in September 2009. Source

BO can't Rap...

Above is the new Nike Air Trainer II LE silver and black aka Raiders colorway. These are an update on Bo Jackson’s original cross-trainer and feature a metallic silver swoosh and patent strap shine off of the black upper, with gray contrasting laces. The best part of the sneaker is by far the tongue which features a pixelated football player resembling the Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson character. These will be hitting Footlocker in July which is right around the corner so keep an eye out! Source

The Chosen 1's...

You cant go wrong with bringing a classic back in its original form and original colorways.........its not rocket science! If you're a fan of the simplicty that Nike create than these are calling your name. The Air Max 1 is making a comeback in its two OG colorways above (white/grey/red and white/grey/blue colorway). These are available now at select retailers as a Quickstrike drop so dont sleep (kinda like I'm doing right now at 3am). Source

Been Caught Stealing...

I remember when this video first came out, I was in like 6th grade and used to watch it on MTV after school.

Caught Stealin...

This auction is from a couple weeks back but I had it saved on my eBay watch list. I saw this auction right when it got listed and thought about making an offer but never did. The auction was for a pair of 1990 Nike Quantum Force highs in a red/white colorway. I don't mind the Quantum Forces but my personal favorite from that year are the Ultra Force lows. The seller had a buy it now of $70 with a best offer option and the buyer got them for $41.12 which is a steal in my book. The sneakers show no signs of cracking and to be honest looked like they were worn a handful of times and then tossed in the closet for 20yrs! I probably shouldve gotten them for that price but oh well no biggie smalls!

Flight of the Conchords...

Bret & Jemaine & Murray & Mel

Flight of the Condors...

Earlier this year Nike released a new sneaker called the Air Flight Condor. The first thing I noticed was the similarity to the air flight 89 (which I love) and also a little Jordan inspiration thrown in the mix. The sneaker first dropped in a low top version with an array of colorways including the cement and safari print. Anyways I just saw that Finishline.com has the new Air Flight Condor High that stays true to the vintage Air Flights series of the late 80s early 90s. The colorway is nothing crazy just a simple white base, black accents and textured grey on the toe and heel area. There is only 1 pic available but if you look close it looks like there is a Nike logo stitched on the heel similar to the Big Nike's. The retail is $97.99 and they have plenty of sizes available if you're interested.

Throwback Video...

LL Cool J video at the Grammy's performing his 1987 classic, "I'm Bad". As you can see he was rocking the red Troop Suit that I posted below.....CLASSIC!!!

Battle of the Track Suit...

I will be doing a 4 part POLL called Battle of the Track Suit to determine the best vintage track suit that I have in stock. Whether you call it a warm-up suit, a track suit or a Guido Tuxedo (thats my favorite) everyone has owned one at some point in their life. The track suit has been a staple in sports, music and fashion for over 40 years now. In 1964, Adidas began to produce tracksuits as leisure wear. These had the distinctive Adidas three stripes, zipped trouser bottoms and collars, and stirrups, features which remained popular for decades. The emergence of tracksuits as a fashion item began in the 1970s and although they were at first mostly worn by athletes, tracksuits became increasingly fashionable in the hip hop community in the 80s.

What not to Wear...

When Dapper Dan clothing goes wrong, hahahaha

Dapper Dan Interview...

Check out this cool video with Dapper Dan and his son, rapper Jelani.....

Coolpix...

If you're a hip hop fan and don't know who Dapper Dan is, slap yourself and then google him!! For real though Dapper Dan was the man behind all the custom designer gear back in the day. The most recognizable rappers who wore Dapper Dan were probably Eric B and Rakim who killed the custom Gucci joints on the Paid in Full and Follow the Leader cover. Other rappers styled by Dapper Dan were Salt & Pepper, Biz Markie, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane etc.. The bottom line is whether you love it or hate it, you gotta respect it because that's a part of hip hop history!

Supreme Team...

I slept on this jacket when it dropped, now I kinda want it........dont you hate when that happens!!!

What Recession...

Word on the streets is there's a recession going on but when it comes to Ed Hardy money isn't a issue!!! There's nothing worse than getting outbid on something you really want and this is a prime example of that for me. I've wanted a custom rhinestone Ed Hardy by Christian Aufiger mesh snapback flaming tiger inferno hat for as long as I can remember. This amazing hat just sold for $5,750.00 and it's worth every penny in my book!!! I mean seriously look at the workmanship on this hat, it must've taken years to bedazzle that tiger!!!! I guess I'll just have to wait for the next one to come around.........hahahahaha

Black (Royal Blue) Mamba...

Last night I was watching Jimmy Kimmel and posted on my Twitter that Kobe was rocking some Jordan black/royal blue 01's. They looked so clean like he just UNDS them which is what he probably did. The black/royal blue 1's are one of the best Jordan's ever IMO and I wish they would retro them soon. Anyways its rare that I post a Kobe picture but those Jordans look too fresh.......I might have to hit up Vintagekicks :-/ Jordan I pics via KicksonFire

As Seen On...

LaPhonso Ellis rocking the vintage Denver Nuggets sports specialties hat on his Skybox draft card.

With the Hat to Match...

Vintage Bledsoe Starter sweatsshirt & snapback hat.....I think I might be Drew Bledsoe for Halloween this year :-)

Poster of the week...

Above is another vintage poster I picked up a couple weeks back at the flea market. This poster is called the Patriot Missile and features none other than Drew Bledsoe . Where do I start with Bledsoe, he was drafted first overall in the 1993 draft by the New England Patriots and immediately improved the team and helped them earn their first postseason appearance in eight years. In 1996 Bledsoe led the Patriots to an appearance in Super Bowl XXXI, where they lost 35-21 against the Green Bay Packers...damn you cheeseheads!!! Fast forward 5 years and during the second game of the 2001 season, Bledsoe was hit by New York Jets linebacker Mo Lewis while running upright to make it out of bounds. Replacing Bledsoe at quarterback, soon-to-be All-Pro Tom Brady led the Patriots to an eventual Super Bowl championship. Though he never regained his starting role, Bledsoe nevertheless proved integral to his team's playoff run when he replaced a hobbled Brady in the AFC Championship Game against Pittsburgh. Bledsoe, starting from the Steelers 40 yard line, capped a scoring drive with an 11 yard touchdown pass to David Patten to seal a 24-17 victory. In gaining the conference title Bledsoe completed 10 of 21 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown against no interceptions.

I always liked Bledsoe but him getting hurt might have been the best thing EVER for the Patriots franchise as Brady aka Mr Bundchen would lead us to 3 Super Bowl championships (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX)!!!

CLAE-mates...

Above is a preview of the Clae Fall/Winter 2009 Collection and like usual they keep it simple and clean, which isnt a bad thing! The Rollins comes in two very nice suede colorways, the Russell in two wool options and I'm really liking the new Clae Khan that comes in premium leathers with ankle strap. These should start hitting Clae accounts next month so keep an eye out. Source

For All To...

Above is the ENVY Reebok Pump Omni Lite from the “Seven Deadly Sins” Pack. I'm not really a fan of these, I prefer the OG Dee Brown pumps but if you like them they are available at Atmos for preorder. Source

Pick UP the TEMPO...

I was in highschool when these first released and the retros just hit shelves this week. Nike didnt get fancy schmancy with these and brought them back in original form and original colorway, Black/Volt. 09 has been a great sneaker year thus far and it looks like there's no stopping the retros, so hop aboard and ride the crazy train (word to Ozzy)!!! These are available at select Nike retailers and retail for 160 one dollar bills y'all! Source

From Legend to Tragedy...

I just found this trailer for the Len Bias documentary thats actually premiering June 24-27 at American Black Film Festival in Miami.......I hope it goes to select theatres soon after so I can go see it!!!

The name of former University of Maryland basketball superstar and Boston Celtics draft pick Len Bias still provokes powerful, and immediate responses, more than 20 years after his death. The most ambitious, comprehensive and uncompromising account of Bias' life and death is revealed in an explosive documentary, featuring interviews with his closest teammates,
friends and family. For the first time, we hear first-hand accounts of what transpired during Bias' final hours from those who were with him at the time of his death.

His heartbreaking fall from grace changed the game forever on the court, where many considered him to be Michael Jordan's closest rival, and in the courtroom, where generations continue to face the harsh punishment of the nation's drug policies that were influenced by his controversial death.

Len Bias is a must-see chronicling of how one man's meteoric rise to fame was derailed by a fatal decision that still echoes throughout sports and the criminal justice system.

Lenny Bias...

Today is 23 yrs since Len Bias passed and I still wonder what if?? I've probably watched his highlights hundreds of times and I still get goosebumps every time. I can only imagine the rivalry that could've been, Bias vs Jordan. The shirt we did a couple years back (shown above) is my favorite t-shirt that we've made thus far. Man oh man I wish I could've seen him play.......RIP

Smile...

Been listening to this on repeat all day....

Sugar Ray...

Whenever I post something about a Jordan PE I always say that Nike needs to release more to the public, especially Ray Allen's :-) Well it looks like someone is reading my blog or its just a coinceidence because this month alone House of Hoops is dropping 2 Ray Allen PE's. Last week they dropped the Air Jordan Schoolin’ which I wasnt a fan of and next Saturday (6/27) they are dropping the Jordan Elements shown above. The Elements arent that bad but I would prefer if they did a PE using a Jordan 1-11 but you know how the saying goes...........Beggars can't be Choosers! Source

Spi'zikes...

I'm not talking about those Jordans, more along the line of some vintage 1980 Nike track spikes that I just picked up at the thrift store. I rarely ever get sneakers (or track and field spikes) at the thrift store so this was a cool find for me. The shoes are called the Nike Vainqueur and are most recognizable by the Yellow/Orange/Green colorway which screams eat my dust as you cruise to the finshline. If I wore these I could probably beat Usain Bolt in the 100 that's how fly these are! The crazy thing is they are my size so I might take out the metal spikes and rock them to the mall.....on second thought that's not a good look. I'm not a Nike "spikes" specialist so I am a little confused because these are dated 1980 and the Nike Vainqueur came out in 1976. Anyways I was psyched to find these and wanted to share some pics, ENJOY!! P.S. "Vainqueur" in French means Winner which is what you will be if you wear these to the club!!!

Michelin Man...

Yesterday I posted the life size Kaws Chum figure that I saw this weekend at the House of Campari in LA and now pics just surfaced of new Chum key chains. After the success of the Companion Keyrings, the Chum character is now up for the treatment by Original Fake. The keyring comes in the 5 colorways shown above and they will be released at colette on June 26th. Source

DJ AM x Nike...

Yesterday DJ AM posted the above message on his twitter page. For a "sneakerhead" this is the pinnacle of collaborations and a huge honor. I'm psyched to see how they come out and I'm just glad they're not gonna be Lakers colors ;-)

Lobstah...

I'm a sucker for unique packaging and the new CNCPTS blue lobster sb HAZMAT foam container is dope!!! I'm not a huge fan of the sneaker itself but they will definitley sell out quick and turn some heads in the street. I liked the 1st lobster SB they released last year better but these aren't bad. A release is scheduled for this Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 11:00 am and Concepts will also be raffling off a pair of the original Lobster from 2008. Raffle tickets will be sold for $10 each and the drawing will be held immediately following the release on June 20th.

With the Hat to Match...

This is a double rivarly edition of "With the Hat to Match" featuring the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens. You cant go wrong with a vintage Starter jacket with the vintage Zubaz hat to match IMO.

While the teams played each other often, the rivalry became truly pronounced in the 1970s, when both were yearly contenders. In 1971, despite the Bruins finishing first in the league and shattering many NHL scoring records, they lost in the first round to the Canadiens in seven games. This ended a potential Bruins dynasty (although they would win the Stanley Cup the following season). Don Cherry's "Lunch Pail Athletic Club" lost to the Habs in both the 1977 and 1978 Stanley Cup finals. Canadiens fans remember the rough tactics that Cherry's players used against Guy Lafleur, whose head was swathed in bandages at the end of the 1978 series after repeated high-sticking from Bruins players.

The seminal moment in the history of the rivalry was probably Game 7 of the 1979 Semi-Finals. After a rough and tumble series which saw both sides win at home through the first six games, the Bruins took a lead in the closing four minutes of game 7 in Montreal, thanks to a goal by Rick Middleton (Ken Dryden would later remark this as "the most beautiful goal" that he ever let in). The Bruins were charged with a minor penalty for having seven players on the ice, Lafleur scored the tying goal on the ensuing power play, and Montreal's Yvon Lambert scored in overtime to win the series. The win allowed Montreal to advance to the Stanley Cup finals, which they won for the fourth consecutive year. Source

WD"I"WT...

Actually the pic is from this weekend but I never got around to posting it. The picture above is me and my identical twin brother Landlord. People get us confused all the time but we're used to it so it doesn't phase us. Back in highschool we used to switch dates occasionaly and they would never know the difference!!! I was born 2 minutes earlier so I'm the older of the two and also some people say I'm a little taller but we're basically the same height because of his flat-top. I Kid, I Kid, we're not brothers....as if you couldn't tell HAHAHAHA

What I wore:

Too Fat to Fish...

Artie was in Cali for a book signing this wekend so we went to see the man, the myth, the legend. There were about 200 people in line so it took about an hour but it was no biggie. You had to buy the book for the signing so I picked up the new paperback version with a whole new chapter, reading group guide and foreward by Howard Stern. Once you got up to the table they moved the line pretty quick but he was taking pics and cracking jokes the whole time. My girlfriend was wearing a vintage 1979 Bruce Springsteen shirt and if you know Artie than you know he's a HUGE Bruce fan so he was like "WOW that shirt is awesome, thats gotta be from the 70s!" Anyways he signed our book with his chicken scratch and we were off but it was cool to meet him even if for only a minute and I missed not listening to Stern this past week (rental car didnt have Sirius). If you're a Howard Stern listener or Artie fan than I suggest picking up the Too Fat to Fish book because its a great read.

Beer 30...

At Animal restaurant I tried a new beer called Hitachino Red Rice Ale. We asked the waiter to try the beer with the owl on the bottle (we spotted the people next to us guzzling it down) and he replied "You mean Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale.....the best beer in the world!!" How are you not gonna try it after that comment. I love trying new beers so the decision was easy and next thing you knew the owl was staring us in the face as if it was a challenge to drink it down. The first sip reminded me instantly of some Belgian beers I've tried recently and liked a lot so that was a good thing. With the second sip I could taste a little of the of the fruitiness which was ice but not to overpowering. Overall the beer had a great color, went down smooth and I would definitely have it again.

An offering that is particularly Japanese, or at least Asian, is the Red Rice Ale. The first record of red rice being used to brew beer dates from the Tang Dynasty in China. While many rice beer producers now use modern, technologically developed strains, Hitachino has decided to stick with the original. This is a far cry from using rice as an adjunct to stretch out a beer; the flavor of red rice is integral to the product. The brewing process requires polishing and milling of the rice grains just as sake-making does, and red rice is not the sole sugar source; pilsner malt is added after the rice’s starch molecules have been converted into sugars. The beer is actually fermented with both ale and sake yeasts. This complicated process creates a higher alcohol beer with strawberries, raspberries, and a streak of white pepper on both the nose and palate. The sake influence is noticeable but not predominant, making for a very smooth beer with a touch of glycerol on the finish. Source

Animal Instinct...

We went to dinner at Animal Resturant this week while I was in LA. At first glance the menu might scare some people off but trust me (I'm a Doctor) on this one the food was AMAZING (insert Kanye chorus line). The menu changes daily but a lot of the popular dishes are always available which is good. The restaurnat was stared by two dudes, (literally) Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo and if they look familiar you might have seen them on their TV show a couple years back called Two Dudes Catering on the Food Network.

We ordered a bunch of plates to share which is what I recommend so everyone gets to taste something different. First we went with the barbeque pork belly sandwiches, slaw which were bite size sliders that were phenomonal (we actually ordered a 2nd round....pigs!). Next up we poutine, oxtail gravy, cheddar which was better than the poutine around where I live and its a predominet Fresh Canadian area!!! The next dish we ordered was the flat iron, potato, chanterelle, truffle parmesan fondue and the steak melted in your mouth as the seasoning kicked every sense into high gear.....it was like a explosion of deliciousness! For desert we had bacon chocolate crunch bar, s&p anglaise which was good but I wasnt crazy about it and we also got the tres leches, dulce de leche which was music to my tastebuds aka so good it should be illegal!

The restaurant is located on 435 N. Fairfax Ave. LA which is right next door to Supreme. Its a bit on the pricy side but its well worth it so check out their WEBSITE for more details and if you're in the area I highly recommend checking it out (make reservations if possible). Shout out to Bernardo for picking this spot!!

Timothy Watters...

I ramdonly came across this site and was suprised to see some dope oil paintings. The thing about these is they remind me of the stained glass which I love and some of the paintings are my favorite oldschool pics like the Ice Cube and Biggie ones above. Check out his website HERE which features videos as well as more oil paintings.

CHUM·ming...

I saw this Kaws Chum figure at House of Campari when I was in LA this weekend. I didnt get a chance to make it out for the Honor Fraiser exhibition so it was cool to at least see this in person. Pharrell has the white one in his Miami home but the highlighter yelow one is sick too. The figure is approx 8ft tall and would look great in my office.

INCASE you missed it...

This is DOPE and I might have to get one! For the Curated by Arkitip project, HunterGatherer took inspiration from a previous concept, its Woodgrain design, which has now become synonymous with the firm. I went to see Hangover this weekend and it was hilarious......I haven't laughed that hard at a movie in a long time!!! No need for a Ebert & Roper review, its funny and if you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it :-)

House Hunters...

Sorry for the lack of posts in the past 4 days but I've been house hunting in LA. That mixed with some other business I have while in town has taken up every waking minute, hence the no blogging. I will be back to regular posting on Wednesday and maybe I'll post a little tonight or tomorrow if I have some time. P.S. We should've filmed an episode of House Hunters this week, hahaha

I'm off to LA so I'll try and keep the blog updated as much as possible. In the meantime you can follow my moves at http://twitter.com/ForAllToEnvy

Vintage Poster of the Week...

The Red Sox just swept the Yankees so I figured I'd post a vintage Red Sox poster. Mike Greenwell aka "The Gator" played his entire career with the Boston Red Sox (1985-1996). The poster above is called Gator Tough hence the nickname in which he got during his time in Boston, because he wrestled alligators in the off season. Throughout his Red Sox career, Greenwell suffered under the weight of lofty expectations for a Boston left fielder, as since 1940 the position had been occupied by Ted Williams, Carl Yastrzemski and Jim Rice – all MVP winners, regular triple crown candidates, and members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Although his play rarely reached the level of his predecessors, he provided a solid and reliable presence in the team's lineup for several seasons. greenweel was a 2 time all star and was a leading contender for the AL MVP in 1988, but he lost out to José Canseco, who pulled off the first 40 home run, 40 stolen base season in baseball history.

I got it for the LO...

Hit up Macy's today and was quite suprised when I saw that all the summer yacht gear was 70% off (50% + extra 20% if you pay with your Macys card). I grabbed a bunch of stuff for dirt cheap which is always nice. Rarely do I ever pay full retail price for Polo because it will always go on sale and if you keep an eye out you can grab some amazing deals especially at Macy's :-) I think the retail price for everything above was $750 and I paid like $250.

Hybrizzle....

TY aka the Sample King over at Leaders1354 has been posting pics of upcoming Nike's all week and today he shows us another colorway of the Air Hoop Structure. This colorway has been seen previously but not actually being worn.....its always nice to see how they look on the feet rather than on the shelves. This is hands down my favorite colorway of this sneaker thus far and from what I've read in the comment boxes these will be a hit! "A little very solid shoe all around in terms of comfort and “headturnability”. - TY Look for these to hit shelves Holiday 09′ Source

Blue Lobster...

Today, after much speculation, Cambridge-based Concepts have announced it will be releasing the Blue Lobster Dunk Low Premium, marking the shops second foray into the Nike SB collaboration game. As you may remember, on May 31, 2008 the first “Lobster” arrived at the “Concepts Shipping Company” and came packaged with a poster, lobster claw rubber band, tee shirt and condiment box, with the first 50 pairs being boxed in a wooden lobster trap.

The Blue Lobster sneaker will be bagged, tagged and sealed in a HAZMAT foam container. Each pair will be joined by an official Nike SB tee shirt, hang tag and lace lock. The first 200 pairs will come with 1 of 2 Concepts x Alien Workshop skate decks. The Concepts x Nike SB “Blue Lobster” Dunk Low Premium will be released on June 20, 2009 and are priced at $250.00 USD. Concepts will also be raffling off a pair of the original Lobster from 2008 during the line-up. Raffle tickets will be sold for $10 each and the drawing will be held immediately following the release.

After the launch of the Blue Lobster, Concepts will host the Official Blue Lobster Party, featuring a number of special guests and performers including DJ Statik Selektah, Termanology and Masspike Miles. The “Brew Live Cruise” will take place on board the MV Freedom, docked at Rowes Wharf in Boston, MA. Boarding begins at 8:00 pm and the vessel leaves at 9:00 pm sharp! Admission is $30 and only offered to those that are 21+. Source

Newly MINTed...

This is the year of the Air Max 95 and Jordan I retros and thats not a bad thing. Next up on the AM95 calender is the fresh summertime colorway of cool mint green. The colorway is real subtle and even a little hard to see in the pics but hopefully its stands out more in person. These will be hitting Footlockers this week (Wednesday/Thursday depending on location) so keep yours eyes peeled. Source

Its about that time again.......

Early Bird...

If you're one of those people that dont like to wait till release day for kicks than you might like this. The Air Jordan DMP 1 Retro High 60+ Pack is set to drop on July 11th but there are some already available for pre-order on eBay. I know I'm psyched for this pack but I can wait for the actual release and save a little young mula baby. I just relized the green pair matches the Supra jacket below perfect, interesting. As you can see, the pack consists of two different Air Jordan 1 Retro High models: the traditional Black/Red Bulls color scheme, while the other represents for one of Michael’s first major rivals, the Boston Celtics. Source

Inspired By...

I just saw the new Supra Fall 09 apparel line and one of the jackets they did looked real familiar. I quickly relized that it was the same jacket as the Joran I wings satin jacket from 86. Ive always loved the simplicity and design of the Jordan wings jacket and the wings patch on the back is icing on the cake. I'm real suprised Supra did put their logo on the back because I think it would've made it that much better but hey what do I know. The Supra jacket is called the FLYER.....maybe a little reference to "AIR" Jordan????? Anyways the Supra jacket came out nice IMO and there are 3 colorways avilable: blk/green, navy/white and the infamous blk/red/green aka the gucci colorway. Source

Finally...

The new iPhone 3G S is releasing Friday June 19th and features picture text, video, cut/copy & paste, a 3-megapixel camera, a built in compass and voice control to name a few. I have the 1st generation iPhone which I love but these new features are much needed so I might have to get the new 3G S. Check out more info and details HERE.

Tight Roll Jeans..

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon launched a petiton a while back to get the whole Saved by the Bell cast back for the 20th anniversay reunion. Well last night Zach Morris was on the show and came out in his full on 90s gear including the tight roll jeans and the block phone!!!! There are 2 people left they havent signed on yet: Kelly Kapowski and Screech Powers. If you want to see the cast back together you can sign the petition HERE

Marco POLO....

Above are a couple new Fred Perry gradioent polo's that just released in time for summer. When I first saw these the Aqua one reminded me of Fresh Water Air Max 95's and the Pink one remidend me of the Air Tech Challenge II's.....hence the mockups I did above. There has been quite a bit of gradient use lately on clothing and sneakers (Converse, New Balance and Nike to name a few) and it looks like the train will keep rolling along for right now. These are exclusive to vintage retailer, American Rag & Cie and they are available in 3 colorways, ocean blue, grey and coral pink, each with a matching colored signature laurel embroidered logo. Source

AQUAman...

The Nike Air Hoop Structure is one of the only Hybrids that I'm actually waiting for to drop, especially in this colorway. TY over at Leaders1354 just posted some pics of an Aqua pair which are set to drop Holiday 09. As you can see they used the same colors/design of the Jordan aqua VIII which is always a good look and also peep that icy sole on the side! No exact release date as of yet but stay tuned for more info in the coming months. Source

In case you missed it...

A couple weeks back the Beastie Boys were on the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show and they performed So What'cha Want with the Roots which was another classic performance.....I can't wait to see them live again this summer!

As Seen On...

Spike Lee looking like a 7th grader at middle school walking down the hall with his bookbag, his report card in his hand, a scraped knee from recess and a fresh pair of OG Neon Air Max 95's!!!

Guess Who's Back...

..back again, the Neon AM95 is back, tell a friend!! Is it me or does it seem like Nike is retroing these every year?? I can't really complain because they are the greatest air max 95 ever and you could have 20 pairs and it wouldnt be a bad thing, we'll maybe not 20 but you catch my drift. Don't get your panties in a bunch just yet though because these are part of Nike’s Spring 2010 lineup so you'll have to wait till next year to cop them.

Hits from the Bong...

I posted the Air Bart t-shirt the other day and here is another bootleg Bart tee for your viewing pleasure. I call this one Bong Hit Bart for obvious reasons. Somebody should get hime some visine quick those eyes are pretty bloodshot!! The funny thing is Michael Phelps just passed the bong to Bart before this picture was taken, hahahaha. Remember kids say no to drugs unless its for medical purposes only :-)

Last Dance with Mary Jane...

The Weeds season 5 premiere is tonight at 10pm on Showtime and I'm pretty psyched. If you've never watched it before its a great show and if you like Dexter and Entourage like me than you'll most likely enjoy Weeds. Nancy Botwin aka Mary-Louise Parker is reason enough to watch the show IMO but the whole cast is great and my favorite character is Doug Wilson played by comedian Kevin Nealon.

Liquid Aloha...

I decided to try a new beer for the game tonight and went with a limited release by Kona Brewing Co. The name of the beer is Wailua which is hawaiian for two fresh water stream mingling. The beer is a wheat ale that is brewed with torpical passion fruit. The beer is a refreshing, citrusy, sun colored ale with the cool taste of Hawaii! You can really taste the passionfruit with every sip and if you close your eyes you'll actually feel like your on the Big Island :-) I've never been to Hawaii but I plan on taking a trip in the next couple years and I'm definitley gonna stop by the Kona Pub & Brewery loctaed in Kailua Kona. If you're a fan of light, fruity, citrusy, summer ales than you will absolutely love this beer and I highly recommend picking some up to try.

Lazy Sunday...

You know what time it is.....

Wear a Bib...

Usually when I do a post about a Player Exclusive I always say how it stinks that there's never any that I want in my size (10.5-11). If only I had sz 12.5 at least I could try and get some Bibby's. We'll I just found some Bibby PE's in my size but they are probably the most unexciting PE's ever. When I think of Jordan PE's I think of unreleased colorways for the most part so these were not what I was hoping to find. Vintagekicks has a pair of Bibby Jordan IX PE's in my size for $1,000 but they are literally just the IX's form the Countdown Pack with Bibby stitched on the heel. I hope HOH (House of Hoops) does some more limited PE releases in the future.

Bibby...

The BP photoshop below reminded me of the Mike Bibby PE's which I love. Again I think it goes back to the black/purple colorway and the fact the V's are one of my favs. These were designed for Bibby to wear on road games to match his Sacramento Kings uniform. They have his uniform number stitched on the side. Also an interesting note, these are labeled “Women’s” Air Jordan’s even though they are made in a men’s size 12.5, reason being is that the lowtop version of the Air Jordan 5 Retro only released in women’s sizes. Source

BP x AJV...

I was just checking out BP's Niketalk thread and saw some new photoshops he did recently. The pair above caught my eye because I'm a sucker for the black/purple combo. The Jordan V features an all black base with purple accents on the midsole and inner lining. I love how the purple is subtle but still pops off the shoe. Jordan brand needs to start taking notes....

When Pigs Fly...

If I was a Lakers fan (which would take nothing short of the greatest miracle of mankind) than this is what I would probably rock to the game tonight. Vintage black Lakers starter jacket with a vintage Lakers Magic Johnson Zubaz hat....nuff said! Unfortunately I wont being wearing this outfit anytime soon and truth be told I'm throwing it in the incinerator after I finish this post.......just kidding their actually both for sale in my eBay store ;-) For real though the Lakers look tough to beat and the Magic better step it up tonight if they want ANY chance of winning their 1st NBA title.

OG Ultra Force....

Here are a couple pics of some vintage Ultra Forces that I had. I found a sneaker dig last year that had a bunch of Nikes from 90-92 and these were amongst the ones I grabbed. I got a couple pairs of the pink colorway which were small sizes and the fluorescent pair was cracked when I found them so they were no good but I think I still have them in the basement somewhere. I personally think Nike should've brought back one of these colorway's first and then maybe tried some new colors out, but that's just my opinion.

Ultra Force...

One of my favorite sneakers from the early 90s were the Ultra Force's. I had these back 6th grade and as much as I wanted some fresh J's I cant complain because these were one of my favorite sneakers and still are. Nike released a couple pairs of lows earlier this year but I like the 3/4 so much better. I never saw any info on this release and they are sold out on Nike.com so I'm not really sure when or where they dropped. I'm usually a fan of the green/black colorway but I don't think it really works on these and I would've went with an OG colorway. Hopefully Nike will release some more in the near future so I can grab a pair and relive that summer of 1990........

X-Cons...

These look dope and I might have to pick them up! Cons killing it with look and styles of the shoes they having been putting out. This time they give a new spin on a Chuck Taylor Mid with a Waxed Canvas material and their signature memory foam that your feet will thank you for wearing. Source

Rick the Ruler...

This is probably 1 of my top 10 vintage t-shirts that I've ever come across. The shirt is from The Great Adventures of Slick Rick LP which released in 1988. Im not sure if its a concert tee or just a shirt sold at local record stores but it really doesnt matter because its so DOPE! Rick the Ruler has one of the most unique flows in hip hop and his first LP included hit songs such as "Teenage Love", "Children's Story", "Hey Young World" & " La Di Da Di". Originally from South Wimbledon, London, England, he moved with his family to The Bronx in 1975 where he met Dana Dane, later forming a hip hop duo as Kangol Crew. Rick's characteristic eyepatch was acquired after being blinded in the right eye by broken glass as an infant. Once he gained a degree of wealth, he earned a reputation for wearing an enormous amount of gold and diamond jewelry, including many large necklaces with giant pendants, bracelets, huge rings on each finger, and a gold tooth......the rest is history.

Mos & Slick...

Rick the Ruler makes any track better IMO and Mos kills it as usual.......take a listen!

Air Bart...

Above is a vintage Air Bart shirt from the 80's that I have in stock. Back in the early 90s if you remember they used to make bootleg Bart tees for almost everything under the sun. The NBA Bart tees are some of my favorite where Bart is portrayed as Michael Jordan. This tee is most likely from 1988 or 89 when the Pistons-Bulls rivalry was full fledged.

The Bulls-Pistons rivalry originated in the 1970's and was most intense in the late 1980s - early 1990's, a period when the Chicago Bulls' superstar, Michael Jordan, was evolving into one of the league's best players and when the Detroit Pistons were becoming a major playoff contender. This rivalry was one of the fiercest during its early period, mostly due to the dynamics between Michael Jordan and the "Bad Boy" Pistons, led mostly by Isiah Thomas and Bill Laimbeer.

Stamp of Approval...

I was at the post office dropping off some packages and decided to grab some Simpsons stamps before they're all gone. Ive grown up watching the Simpsons since it first aired back in 1989 and although I don't watch it as much as I used to I still catch an episode here and there. I don't really use stamps and I'm not a stamp collector so I'm not sure what I'll do with these........I was thinking maybe save them for when I get married to put them on the wedding invitations but I don't think my girl will give that the "stamp of approval", hahaha.

Coolpix...

I had this pic saved on my computer from awhile back. I think it was posted on Niketalk at some point but I dont remember by who or when. The picture features a bunch of OG Jordan I's and some of the rarest ones out there in deadstock condition like the Metallic Purple I's which are mind boggling to me. I always wondered why he or she took the picture in the bathroom, was there no room in the living room or something???

As Seen On...

One of the best vintage Jordan pics ever IMO. MJ at the playground rocking the grey wings tee with the OG Jordan I back toes over his shoulder........CLASSIC! Sneaker pic via ebayer thecoolshoeshine who had a pair of black toes listed awhile back.

Caught Stealing...

eBay is full of great deals especially on sneakers but you have to be very careful of fakes, especially with Jordan's. Above is a great deal that someone just got on the Jordan I OLNL pack. The auction ended for $47 and this pack usually sells for $250-$300 in Deadstock condition! Although the ones above were used, they are in great condition and with a little elbow grease they would probably look good as new. In my opinion buying NDS or VNDS (near deadstock or very near deadstock) sneakers is the best especially if you're gonna keep them for yourself to wear......why not save a hundred or so dollars for a pair of sneakers that have been worn a couple times???? Unfortunately they were my size (I'm a true 10.5 but can rock sz 11) and I didn't see the auction but there's always next time so remember while you're sleeping I'm hunting for the next great deal :-)

P.S. *Helpful HINT* A short and undescriptive auction title can = a good steal.

DOH-Nuts...

Word to Homer Simpson, tomorrow is National Donut Day!!! Participating Dunkin' Donuts throughout the country will give every customer a free donut of their choice, with the purchase of any beverage, limit one per customer. Krispy Kreme is also giving away one doughnut per customer with purchase required! I'm a fan of the Dunkins Double Chocolate and Butternut donuts and you cant go wrong with the OG glazed Krispy Kreme!

Wall-Eh...

Jordan vs Barkley...

Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls elbows the Philadelphia 76ers Charles Barkley in the face during a 1991 playoff game in Chicago. Source

Jordan's & Barkley's...

This past weekend a couple new Nike's dropped including the Jordan XII and the Air Max2 CB '94. Both sneakers were classics back in the day and the retro's look good and have been selling good. If your local spot is sold out or your local spot didnt get them you can head over to Finishline.com where they have a FSR (full size run) in both styles. P.S. They also have FSR in the toro bravo pack.

Mc...

Speaking of wrong size and vintage Nike Mcenroe gear, here is a vintage tee I have in stock that doesnt fit me. You dont know how many times I find stuff that I want to keep for myself but its not my size so I have to sell it. Just like the kids Mac Attacks I have I'm just waiting for the day this tee turns into a sz XL but I dont see that happening anytime in the near future. I love the old McEnroe logo and how they incorporated the tennis ball and checkboard print into it......well done!

Big MACenroe...

There was also a white version of the Nike Mac Attack as seen in the pics above. Source

Mac Attack...

I wanted to buy these so bad but wasn't gonna spend a stack on them. Above is a pair of OG Nike Mac Attack's from 1986 that just sold on eBay for $995.00 !!!!! The buyer had a best offer option and I sent 3 offers but he declined them all :-( I personally dont think these are worth $1,000 but thats the beauty of eBay.....someone out there thought they were worth that much and bought them, simple as that. I have a Deadstock w/box pair in stock but they are a kids size so I can only hope they transform overnight into a size 10.5 or 11 and I can wear them :-) FYI In 1978 John McEnroe signed an endorsement with Nike. Many of his antics, including kiss the ground were thought to be a way of highlighting his sponsor's gear. All of which was swallowed by an eager set of consumers.

Sole II Sole...

The other day I posted some scans of the Sole Collector Nike Penny II collabo and above are some actual pics that have surfaced. The colorway was designed by the SC team to mark the 5th anniversary of the magazine and unfortunately these were only made for members of the Sole Collector and will not be released for retail. However you know there will be at least one pair that finds its way to eBay because there's always that person who says.... "I love the dough, more than you know. Gotta let it show, I love the dough." Maybe if there is enough chitter chatter on the blogosphere Nike will consider making these a general release but you never know.....

This should be dropping soon along with some other dope fitteds so open up your ears and clean out your eyes!!!!

Gucci Gucci Gucci...

Lookin at my Gucci's it's about that time! I actually like these better than the denim sample pair that Nike SB is rumored to release for the holiday. The Red/Black/Green "Gucci" colors have been used and abused but these seem to take the overplayed colorway and make it actually look unforced. Maybe its the ostrich leather or maybe the gum sole but I think they came out super clean. These will be released at the House of Hoops and at select Foot Locker Stores in October. Source

FOXy Lady...

I'll end Monday on a good note with some new pics of Megan Fox. Just in case you might have forgotten, or maybe had a lobotomy, here is a reminder that Megan Fox is still really hot!!!!! These are some previews of the upcoming July issue of British GQ. Source

Above is the new issue of Sole Collector with Eminem on the cover rocking some Jordan IV's. Issue 28 should be hitting newsstands this week and there is also another cover featuring the Penny II below but that will be EXCLUSIVE to subscribers. Source

SC x Nike...

Nick DePaula of Sole Collector recently posted a series of preview shots of what looks to be an upcoming collaboration between Sole Collector and Nike on the Nike Air Penny II. Above are some new scans of the whole sneaker which has a black, grey and white base with lime green accents and the Sole Collector logo on the heel. Its hard to tell from the pics how they will look in person but I think I'll stick with the OG black/blue colorway. Source

As Seen On...

Above is the Bones Brigade circa 1986 and if you look closely you can spot some OG Jordan I's. Tony Hawk (in the pink tee) looks to be wearing Vans but I cant really tell from the pic. Bones Brigade was a highly successful skateboarding team that rode under the Powell Peralta and later Powell banner. The team was created in 1979 by Stacy Peralta who picked most of the riders. The list of great skaters is a mile long but they were the best of the best back then and still are to this day. Some people might not know but the Jordan I was used as a skate shoe back in the day and not kept in a temperature controlled vault in peoples basements like they are today ;-) Source

What Recession...

Above is one of the rarest vintage skateboard t-shirts in existence, the infamous Powell Peralta multi print tee. From the late 80s this shirt features several of the classic Powell prints like the Underhill, the vato rat, the crossbones, bomber, 89 tour logo etc. This tee usually hits the $400-$500 range with ease and Ive seen them go for more than that in the past. The one above sold on eBay last week for $420 Buy it Now and its in the best condition I've ever seen. I think my cousin actually had this shirt back in the day, I might have to give him a call tomorrow and see if he still has it laying around :-)
