What Recession....

This is one of the sweetest vintage tees Ive ever seen!!!! Here is what the seller had to say...rare men’s 1930’s – 1940’s Skull and Crossbones T-shirt. Extremely Rare and old t-shirt from some organization with that incredible ink print emblem of the Skull and Crossbones. Not exactly sure if this is from the Skull and Crossbones secret society or a team shirt or what, but it looks incredible. Shirt still has original tag that simply reads “C-Y it’s Best Large”. The print is so amazing and it looks like an old tattoo that has faded over the years. The tag itself is mind boggling to me, because its still intact and as legible as the day it was made which is very hard to find. I have shirts from the 80s where the tags is completely destroyed and illegible so this shirt was very well preserved over the 70-80s years!!!! The shirt sold for $501.99 which I think is a very fair price for a vintage shirt of this caliber.

Super Sluggers...

Yesterday pics surfaced of the Nike Air Griffey Max retro that everyone is going bananas over. They are probably the 2nd most hyped shoe of the year next to the Eggplant Foams. The kicks are fire Im not gonna lie but I thought to myself what else can I post besides the sneakers that everybody has seen???? I went into my vault and searched around for a little and found something that I had to share........a vintage NIB (new in box) Ken Griffey Jr Mariners doll!!!!! This Super Sluggers Griffey doll might be coolest thing since sliced bread and I dont think there's too many of these left floating around. The kicks should be hitting Nike Urban accounts in April and retail for $140.

Ice Melt...

I guess being the best hockey player on the planet had its perks, hahaha. Above is an old picture of Waynes Gretzkys wife and and she makes hockey equipment (or lack there of) look real good ....... DDDAMN! Janet Jones Gretzky was also a Playboy cover girl and had her own aerobics instruction video called The Firm.

Weekend O' Sports...

I gotta say this is one of the best all around sports weekends in a long time. Im a HUGE sports fan and enjoy evertyhing from Football to UFC to Tennis and this weekend is jam packed with a ton of great events!! 1st up tonight is the UFC fight (10 pm est on Pay Per View) where the title is on the line in the St-Pierre vs Penn fight. I'm a GSP fan so I hope he uses his Canadian . Im also looking forward to Nate Diaz vs Clay Guida (who looks like Nadal's twin brother, haha) and the Stephan Bonnar vs Jon Jones fight. Tommorow is just the ultimate game day for a sports fan like myself!!! At Noon the Celtics take on the Timberwolves as they face off against all the players they traded to get KG. The Celts have won 10 in a row and will be looking to get #11 tomorrow. BTW Ray Allen should've made the all star team!!!! Next up at 3:30 is the finals of the Autrailian open featuring #1 Nadal vs #2 Federer and what more could a tennis fan ask for!!! I gotta say I think Nadal is taking over the game and Federer is still one of the all time greatest but I think his reign is up and Rafa is the new King....but well see if Im right tomorrow :-) Last but not leats is the Super Bowl where the Cardinals are looking for their 1st championship EVER while the Steelers arent happy with the fist of rings and are looking for their 6th championship!!! I honestly think its gonna be a great game and I think the 2 long haired warriors (Polamalu & Fitzgerald) will make the difference in the game!! The only thing that would've been icing on the cake is if the Patriots were in the Super Bowl but there's always next year!!

Nike 1989...

The good ol days, when Nike was creating some of the greatest sneakers EVER!! I saw this awesome Nike commercial from 1989 and thought I would share. The commercial features some amazing vintage kicks such as the Air Max Light, Air Trainer, Air Tech Challenge and Air Flight Hi. Agassi is spotted throughout the video and Bo Jackson makes a quick appearance in the beginning of the commercial.....ENJOY!

Clae Aiken...

Sorry to burst anyones bubble but unfortunately this isnt a post about Clay Aiken, hahahahaha. Above are new pics of the Clae spring 2009 collection. Clae always kills it with simplicity and design and I might have to get the whole trifecta above.....the Cousteau, the Whitman and Russell. At first glance they look like solid black shoes but Clae always includes some subtle details. The Whitman features some patent leather accents, the Cousteau contrasting white stitching and the Russell comes with two white eyelets on the top. Mrs. Robinson

Ive posted a bunch of David Robinson stuff today so I feel bad for Mrs Robinson, she's feeling a little left out :-) I mostly listen to hip hop but I honestly appreciate good music in general and I listen to all different genres, it just really depends on my mood. My Dad used to listed to Simon & Garfunkel a lot when I was younger so Ive always enjoyed their music. P.S. This song was featured in the movie The Graduate which is a GREAT movie!!!!!

Out"line"d In Chalk...

I dont just stick and move, I hit you with a combination!! Above are 2 vintage Robinson Chalk Line jackets that I have in stock and I thought I would share some pics seeing how I just posted a Robinson poster. The 1st jacket pictured is not super rare and most people have seen it before but the second jacket is pretty rare and Ive never seen another one! The 1st one pictured is from the early 90s while the 2nd one is mid-late 90s and if you're a diehard Spurs fan you NEED one of these jackets! P.S. Due to what has happened when I posted these jackets, I was forced to change my name to Martin the Chalk Line King Jr.....address me as such! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Vintage Poster of the week...

Above is a vintage David Robinson poster that I have in stock. The sickest thing about this poster is the 3 pairs of Nike Command Forces, all I want is 1 pair that wont crack on me.....HINT HINT Nike!!!!! The name of the Poster is CNETER OF ATTENTION and that comes from the obvious fact that Robinson is considered as one of the best centers every to play the game. Some other stuff in the background is a saxophone which Robinson is known for playing in his spare time, a NAVY outfit which is where he got his nickaname "The Admiral" and of course his jeresy, warmup suit and a vintage salem t-shirt that I actually have in stock :-)

Reebook just announced they will be releasing a special edition Pump Omni Lite for All Star Weekend. Air Penny Dos...

Above is the new Penny II colorway that just dropped. Nike gave the sneaker a Miami Heat facelift and these are looking as fresh as the OG blue colorway. These should be arriving at Nike retailers shortly and Vault in Harlem got them in yesterday. You know if you scoop these up you're gonna need a vintage Miami Heat snapback to match :-)

Strange brew is a classic comedy from 1983 featuring Canada's most famous hosers Bob and Doug McKenzie. The brothers plan a scheme in attempt to get free beer and when that fails they end up getting jobs inspecting the bottles at the Elsinore Brewery, only to learn that something is rotten with the state of it. Above is the new Jadakiss video featuring Faith Evans off the Notorious movie soundtrack. The song is called "Letter To B.I.G" and was directed by Vashtie. Jada pays homage to BIG by rocking the coogi sweater throughout the video and has a line that says "In your memory I keep a Coogi in my closet". I included a pic of a vintage Coogi that I have in stock and I gotta say its one of the dopest color schemes Ive seen.

Top 50...

So the other day I came across this post on kineda.com of the 50 Streetwear Blogs You Should Be Reading and I was super excited. Why was I so excited you ask?????? Well DUH I have to be on that list because my BLOG is cooler than a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce (Beastie Boys reference)!! Ok so my blog is fairly new and doesnt have much hype behind it but I think I do a damn good job for being a one man crew. I like to mix it up with a little bit of everything that I like: food & drink, movies, sneakers, clothing and of course VINTAGE! When I make a post I try to be informative on the subject but put my own little twist on it and often include my personal opinion. Anyways I was scrolling down the list of the top 50 anticipating my name to pop up and as I got closer to the bottom I got a little nervous. I finished reading the list and my blog was nowhere to be mentioned.....I thought to myself this has to be a mistake, a typo, some sort of conspiracy theory!! I ran into the snow fallen street by my house dropped to my knees and screamed WHY LORD, WHY DIDNT I MAKE THE TOP 50 BLOG LIST!!!!!!!!! My neighbors all started to stare out their windows at me like I was some lunatic, but I was heartbroken. As I began walking back to my house I heard a voice say "Kirk, remember what Eric B & Rakim told you.......Competition Is None". In other words there is no competition when you are doing what you love and not following anyone elses footsteps but making your own path!! It took me awhile to calm down but then I relized I must have been #51, HAHAHAHA.

This pic makes me laugh everytime I see it, Fat Joe way back in day (dont know what year but he looks mad young)! Check out the OG Ewings, the 8 ball jacket and vintage hurricanes gear!! I have a similar pair of Ewings but they arent the exact same as you can see by the tongue design.

ATC inspiration...

Above are the new Ato Matsumoto’s that feature a very familar splatter print & hot pink colorway. Ato teamed up with DJ Daruma, designer of Japanese label Roc Star to create these ATC inspired higtops. Ato's became an overnight sensation last year when some dude named Kanye wore them??? I wonder what Agassi would think of these, oh wait I know what he would do.....CRY at this mockery of his sig shoe, HAHAHAHA These will retail for $337 and will see release at Phenomenon Harajuku very soon. XI inspiration...

The infamous Air Huarache Light Bursts just got a Jordan face lift and I must say they arent looking to shabby. I personally like the bred colorway a lot and you cant go worn with the Cool Grey. Both models feature the use of patent leather uppers, white midsoles, special pixelated insoles of “His Airness” and even XI oval extra laces.
